A method and apparatus are provided for determining the layout of a form automatically to accommodate text in the form. Under the method and apparatus, a set of parameters define the sizing and alignment of elements of the form. Sizing and positioning instructions that are separate from the sizing and alignment parameters set the sizing and positioning of elements of the form based on the sizing and alignment parameters. The instructions determine the minimum size for the form, based in part on text in the form. The difference between the minimum size for the form and a desired size for the form is then distributed across the form to size and position the elements in the form.

Method and apparatus for form automatic layout

A cutting attachment for use with a vegetation cutting device. The cutting attachment has a body with a generally planar coupling portion and a central axis of rotation. In one embodiment, the body further includes a conical central wall portion extending radially outwardly and in a first direction from the coupling portion and the axis and a circular outer wall portion adjoining the central wall portion and extending generally radially outwardly therefrom. The central wall portion defines a conically-shaped self-cleaning inner cavity disposed symmetrically about the axis. The outer wall portion has a generally smooth outer surface which serves as a skid plate. An outer self-cleaning cavity is formed by an outer surface of the central wall portion and an inner surface of the outer wall portion. A coupling assembly, which can include an adapter having first and second clamping elements, is carried by the coupling portion for coupling the body to the cutting device to cause rotation about the axis. A plurality of spaced apart radially extending cutting elements, in the form of cutting blades and/or cutting strings, are carried by the body. Cutting blades are provided with aerodynamic configurations, serrated edges, inner and outer cutting edges and arms for securing the blades to the cutting attachment which permit longitudinal movement of the cutting blade with respect to the cutting attachment. Cutting strings are provided with inner and outer cutting portions, grooves for reducing fraying and a spiraled configuration.

Cutting attachment for a cutting device having first and second mating body sections forming a rigid body. The first body section has a generally vertical side wall portion, a downwardly and inwardly inclined bottom wall portion, an upwardly inwardly extending wall portion adjoining said bottom wall portion. The second body section has a generally vertical side wall portion, an inwardly extending and generally horizontal portion adjoining said generally vertical portion and an upwardly and inwardly inclined portion adjoining said horizontal portion. The first and second body sections are interconnected to form a rigid body and to cause said upwardly and inwardly extending portion of said first body section and said upwardly and inwardly inclined portion of said second body section to adjoin each other to provide a relatively smooth inner surface in the form of a truncated cone. A connector is carried by the upwardly and inwardly inclined portion adapted to be coupled to the cutting device. Cutting elements are carried by the body and are movable between cutting positions and out-of-the way positions within the outer confines of the body.
