A microspeaker includes a frame defining a space; and an actuator positioned within the space, the actuator including a diaphragm configured to vibrate in a first direction during operation. A center axis of the diaphragm extends in the first direction. A plate assembly mechanically couples to the frame and defines a path for venting fluid from the space. The plate assembly includes: a first plate extending in a plane and defining first apertures that are offset from the center axis in the plane; and a second plate defining a second aperture intersected by the center axis. The second plate includes: an inner recessed region abutting the second aperture; and an outer non-recessed region. The first plate is mechanically coupled to the second plate, the first plate and the inner region of the second plate defining a channel that fluidly couples the first apertures to the second aperture.

Compression driver wide band microspeaker

An actuator module includes a base plate extending in a plane, a voice coil connected to the base plate, and a magnet assembly that includes a back side facing the base plate and a front side facing away from the base plate. The magnet assembly includes a base layer and sidewalls defining a cup and an inner element including a center magnet mounted within the cup. The sidewalls include a first and second pair of sidewalls. The actuator module includes a rigid frame attached to the base plate, the rigid frame including four stubs. The actuator module also includes a plurality of springs suspending the magnet assembly relative to the frame and base plate, the plurality of springs including a first spring attached to the frame at a first pair of the four stubs and a second spring attached to the frame at a second pair of the four stubs.

Actuator module with improved damage resistance

A panel audio loudspeaker includes a panel extending in a plane and an actuator coupled to the panel and configured to couple vibrations to the panel to cause the panel to emit audio waves. The actuator includes a rigid frame attached to a surface of the panel and the frame includes a portion extending perpendicular to the panel surface. The actuator also includes an elongate flexure attached at one end to the portion of the frame extending perpendicular to the panel surface, the flexure extending parallel to the plane and having a first width where the flexure is attached to the frame different from a second width where the flexure is unattached to the frame. The actuator further includes an electromechanical module attached to a portion of the flexure unattached to the frame, the electromechanical module being configured to displace an end of the flexure during operation of the actuator.

Reinforced actuators for distributed mode loudspeakers

An actuator, attached to a panel extending in a plane, includes a frame and a magnetic circuit assembly that includes a magnet and a voice coil, the magnet and voice coil being moveable relative to each other during operation of the actuator along an axis perpendicular to the panel's plane. The actuator further includes one or more suspension members attaching the frame to a first component of the magnetic circuit assembly. Each suspension member includes a segment attaching the suspension member to the frame at an attachment point and a first arm extending away from the attachment point to an end attached to the first component of the magnetic circuit assembly. During operation of the actuator the first arm of the one or more suspension members flex to accommodate axial displacements of the magnet relative to the voice coil.

In some implementations, an actuator can include a magnetic cup comprising a base and sidewalls defining a cavity, the base comprising a planar outer surface opposite the cavity, an edge of the outer surface comprising one or more joint elements; a magnet arranged in the cavity of the magnetic cup; a voice coil arranged in an air gap separating the sidewalls and the magnet; a support comprising one or more magnetic suspension members each comprising an edge shaped to fit to a corresponding one of the joint elements and having a first side that is a) flush with the planar outer surface or b) displaced from the planar outer surface along a first axis perpendicular to the planar outer surface in a direction toward the cavity of the magnetic cup; and a coupling plate attached to the voice coil and the support.

Reduced thickness actuator

An actuator includes a frame that includes a panel extending in a plane and one or more pillars extending perpendicular from the plane. The actuator further includes a magnetic circuit assembly that includes a magnet and a voice coil, which are moveable relative to each other along an axis perpendicular to the plane of the panel. The actuator also includes one or more suspension members attaching the frame to a first component of the magnetic circuit assembly. Each suspension member includes a vertical segment attaching the suspension member to a corresponding one of the pillars. Each suspension member also includes a first arm extending away from the corresponding pillar to an end attached to the first component of the magnetic circuit assembly. During operation of the actuator, the first arm of the suspension member flexes to accommodate axial displacements of the magnet relative to the voice coil.

In a particular embodiment, a connector includes a connector module and a set of conductive connectors coupled to the connector module. The set of conductive connectors is configured to electrically couple to a set of contacts of a memory module. The connector also includes a ground contact coupled to the connector module. The ground contact is configured to be coupled to a ground of the memory module and to a conductive shroud.

Connector of a universal serial bus device

A circuit board module includes a circuit board having surface mount pads, a circuit board component mounted to the circuit board, and a heat sink assembly. The heat sink assembly includes a heat sink, a first clip holder and a second clip holder. Each clip holder is mounted to respective surface mount pads of the circuit board using a surface mount technology soldering process. The heat sink assembly further includes a clip having a first portion configured to fasten to the first clip holder, a second portion configured to fasten to the second clip holder, and a third portion coupled to the first and second portions. The third portion is configured to position the heat sink adjacent the circuit board component when the first and second portions are respectively fastened to the first and second clip holders.
