A vehicle wiring assembly for supplying power to a sliding door even when the door is open. The assembly includes a wire bundle having a first end attached to the vehicle and a second end attached to a predetermined position on the sliding door . The assembly also includes a spring mechanism attached at one end to the vehicle and at the other end to the wire bundle at a position spaced from the first end of the wire bundle. The basic assembly also includes a bundle guide &prime; disposed along the wire bundle between the spring mechanism and the second end of the wire bundle , where the bundle guide &prime; slidably supports the wire bundle as it extends from the vehicle to the door . The bundle guide &prime; attaches to the vehicle adjacent the sliding door

Wiring assembly for supplying power to a sliding door

Multiple annular electrical connectors are each positioned floatably through a respective aperture of a tray. A shield plate is secured over the tray by bolts which thread into a cylinder head. The shield plate has holes centered above the apertures for access to spark plugs disposed below. Each annular electrical connector is centered about an annular pressure sensing device which encompasses the spark plug. The inboard side of the electrical connector is in electrical contact with the outboard side of the sensing device beneath the tray. Insulated wires extend between the tray and shield plate from each electrical connector and connect to a common panel mounted electrical connector at one end of the tray.

Annular electrical connector assembly

An optical star assembly having a ribbon fiber optic mixing element with the first and second ends. A first and second bundle of fiber optic cables are provided each with an engagement end for connection with a respective end of the ribbon fiber optic mixing element. The ribbon fiber optic mixing element and a portion of the fiber optic cables are carried in the housing so that the housing biases each end of the ribbon fiber optic mixing element towards an engagement end of the first and second bundles of fiber optic cables respectively. The fiber optic cables may be connected to a plurality of optical receivers so that the ribbon fiber optic mixing element distributes optical information from each of the fibers to all of the optical receivers in the assembly.

Optical star assembly

An electrical connection system for connecting an electrical device mounted on an instrument panel to an electrical circuit located behind the panel including a male plug mounted on the back wall of an instrument panel receptacle and a female socket mounted inside the electrical device adjacent an access hole. The male plug has a nonconductive connector body and a plurality of metal terminals that are retained in terminal cavities by flexible arms that project into tubular contact portions at the forward ends of the terminals. The connector body of the male plug has a platform at the forward end where the terminal cavities have channel shaped portions that have open exterior sides for exposing the tubular contact portions of the metal terminals. The tubular contact portions each include a lock aperture that cooperates with an associated flexible lock arm for retaining the terminals in the terminal cavities. The female socket has a nonconductive connector body and a plurality of compliant metal terminals. Each of the compliant metal terminals has a flexible tongue that projects into the slot for contacting the flat contact surface of a metal terminal of the male plug when the female socket is plugged onto the male plug.

Electrical connection system

A modular buss center for an automotive vehicle is provided including a first plug connector; an intermediate terminal having a first male end and a second female end and at least one arm, the first end being electrically connected to the first plug connector; a first template with a hole for receipt of the intermediate terminal; at least one flex circuit, the flex circuit having at least one cut-out flag, the flag making contact with the intermediate terminal arm; a second template separated from the first template by the flex circuit, the second template having a hole for receipt of the intermediate terminal second end; and an electrical component positioned on the second template opposite the flex circuit, the electrical component being electrically connected to the intermediate terminal second end.

Automotive vehicle modular buss

A blind assembly electrical connective arrangement is provided for mating an electrical component with a first structure to a flexible circuit, the flexible circuit being positioned adjacent a second structure, the second structure having first and second surfaces penetrated by an aperture, the arrangement including a male slider, the slider having a platform projecting in a first direction, the platform providing a presentation surface for the flexible circuit, the slider also having at least one set of fingers juxtaposing the second structure, at least one of the fingers being compliant, and the male slider also having an alignment post; and a female housing connected with the electrical component, the female housing having a cavity to receive the platform in the alignment post of the male slider, the female housing having at least one terminal biased for contact with the flexible circuit and wherein movement of the electrical component in a second direction opposite the first direction toward the second structure causes the slider to move in a first plane to align itself with the female housing and to establish an electrical connection.

Self-aligning electrical connective arrangement

An automotive light arrangement is provided including a cartridge bulb which is generally cylindrical with a terminal cup at first and second ends; a terminal having two opposed arms, the arms having a first section of a bulb receiving end, the arms having a bulb clasping second section for compliantly holding a bulb terminal cap between the arms, the arms having a third section extending away from each other to a central plane section, the central plane section having first and second ends, the central plane section having at the first and second ends a pair of opposed ears extending in a direction toward the bulb cap generally perpendicular to the central plane section, each ear having an aperture, and the opposed ears at the first end being spaced from the opposed ears of the second end of the central section, and the terminal having a finger cut out from the plane section extending downwardly toward the cartridge bulb; a terminal housing mounting the terminal, the terminal housing having two apertures bifurcated by a bridge section, each aperture having an internal wall with a lock ramp for entry into the aperture of the ears to rigidly secure the terminal within the housing; and a flexible circuit having an exposed conductor leg positioned on the terminal housing bridge being biased in position and contacted by the terminal finger.
