A mechanical switch-door interlock assembly includes a mounting assembly and an actuator assembly. The actuator assembly includes a body, a door sensor, an operating mechanism handle actuator, and a number of sliding coupling components. The actuator assembly body is slidably coupled to the mounting assembly. The actuator assembly body moves between a first position, wherein the operating mechanism handle actuator does not operatively engage the operating mechanism handle, and a second position, wherein the operating mechanism handle actuator operatively engages the operating mechanism handle and moves the operating mechanism handle to the second position. When a door is in a first position, the door operatively engages the door sensor and moves the actuator assembly body to the first position. When the door is in the second position, the door does not operatively engage the door sensor allowing the actuator assembly body to move into the second position.

Mechanical door interlock device for protecting power electrical switching apparatus and users

An arc baffle includes a first baffle member having a number of first venting holes disposed therein, each being structured to receive ionized gases produced by an arcing event; a second baffle member having a number of second venting holes disposed therein; a section of porous material disposed between the first baffle member and the second baffle member; and a cover disposed adjacent the second baffle member on the opposite side of the section of porous material. The first venting holes are laterally spaced from the second venting holes by a predetermined distance such that ionized gases produced by the arcing event passing through one of the first venting holes must travel at minimum the predetermined distance generally along the section of porous material before passing through one of the second venting holes.

ARC baffling device

A bell alarm system is provided for a circuit breaker in which the actuation of a flux shift trip device causes an electrical switch to be energized thus providing a bell alarm indication that the circuit breaker has been tripped. The flux trip device impinges against a pivotally rotated lower lever mechanism which has a knee which causes rotation of an upper lever against the influence of a spring attached between the two levers. As the knee moves along a surface of the upper lever mechanism, the relative rotation of the two lever members about their support pins is such as to cause the tension on the spring to increase. Because of this vibration in the circuit breaker itself or minute low level movements of the plunger mechanism will not cause the bell alarm to be actuated. The bell alarm will not be actuated until the aforementioned lower knee has rotated sufficiently far along the previously described surface to clear an upper knee in the upper lever mechanism thus allowing the force of the spring to cause the upper lever to actuate the bell alarm.

A cable interlock actuated by a plunger extended from the back of a draw-out circuit breaker when the breaker is closed, prevents closure of a second circuit breaker by holding it in the trip condition. A shutter which closes to prevent access to power system terminations at the rear of the draw-out circuit breaker enclosure when the breaker is removed, blocks operation of the interlock to prevent tripping of the other circuit breaker.
