A stepwell cover mechanism is provided for selectively covering a stepwell cavity in a trailer. The cover mechanism broadly comprises: a cover plate (with an outboard and inboard end) for covering the stepwell cavity; an activator for selectively positioning the cover plate between a retracted position (below floor level and inboard of the stepwell cavity) and an extended position (substantially flush with floor level); and a guide assembly for accurately moving the outboard and inboard ends of the cover plate between the retracted and extended positions. The guide assembly further comprises a first guide assembly for positioning the outboard end of the cover plate between the retracted and extended positions and a second guide assembly for positioning the inboard end of the cover plate between the retracted and extended positions. In the illustrated embodiment, the first guide assembly comprises a pair of telescoping slide assemblies which linearly directs the outboard end of the cover plate, and the second guide assembly comprises a cam surface which selectively raises or lowers the inboard end of the cover plate. In order to accommodate the motion path imposed by the cam surface, the first guide assembly is pivotably attached to the cover plate.

Trailer stepwell cover mechanism

A flexible plumbing assembly for use in a trailer with an extensible cabin having rigid plumbing that can be moved between a retracted position wherein the extensible cabin is substantially inside the trailer and an extended position wherein the extensible cabin is substantially outside the trailer. The flexible plumbing assembly comprising a flexible hose connecting the trailer rigid plumbing to the cabin rigid plumbing, a sliding guide for horizontally moving the connection of the flexible hose to the cabin rigid plumbing at a constant elevation relative to the cabin floor as the cabin rigid plumbing moves with the cabin between the extended and retracted positions, and hose guide for ensuring that material in the flexible hose moves in the proper direction as the cabin moves between the extended and retracted positions. In the preferred embodiment the sliding guide comprises a support bracket which holds the connection of the flexible hose to the cabin rigid plumbing and is slidably attached to a track that is generally parallel to both the floor and the front and rear walls of the cabin.

Flexible plumbing assembly

A trailer having a slideout mechanism for moving an extensible cabin between a retracted position wherein the cabin is substantially inside the trailer and an extended position wherein the cabin is substantially outside the trailer. The slideout mechanism comprising an extension assembly for positioning the cabin between the retracted and extended positions and a leveling assembly for vertically positioning the cabin floor between a raised position wherein the cabin floor is substantially above the trailer floor and a lowered position wherein the cabin floor is substantially level with the trailer floor. In one embodiment, the leveling assembly comprises a frame member having a predetermined profile for controlling the vertical movement of the outboard end of the cabin floor as the cabin is positioned between the retracted and extended positions. In other embodiments, the leveling assembly comprises a cam assembly or a riser assembly for controlling the vertical position of the cabin floor.

Trailer slideout mechanism

A flexible plumbing assembly for use in a trailer with an extensible cabin having rigid plumbing that can be moved between a retracted position wherein the extensible cabin is substantially inside the trailer and an extended position wherein the extensible cabin is substantially outside the trailer. The flexible plumbing assembly comprising a flexible hose connecting the trailer rigid plumbing to the cabin rigid plumbing, a sliding arrangement for horizontally moving the connection of the flexible hose to the cabin rigid plumbing at a constant elevation relative to the cabin floor as the cabin rigid plumbing moves with the cabin between the extended and retracted positions, and a hose guiding arrangement for ensuring that material in the flexible hose moves in the proper direction as the cabin moves between the extended and retracted positions. In the preferred embodiment the sliding arrangement comprises a support bracket which holds the connection of the flexible hose to the cabin rigid plumbing and is slidably attached to a track that is generally parallel to both the floor and the front and rear walls of the cabin.

A trailer having a slideout mechanism for moving an extensible cabin between a retracted position wherein the cabin is substantially inside the trailer and an extended position wherein the cabin is substantially outside the trailer. The slideout mechanism comprising an extension means for positioning the cabin between the retracted and extended positions and a leveling means for vertically positioning the cabin floor between a raised position wherein the cabin floor is substantially above the trailer floor and a lowered position wherein the cabin floor is substantially level with the trailer floor. In one embodiment, the leveling means comprises a frame member having a predetermined profile for controlling the vertical movement of the outboard end of the cabin floor as the cabin is positioned between the retracted and extended positions. A hand tool for winding awning springs is provided. The tool includes an elongate hollow sleeve having an elongate handle member perpendicularly joined to the sleeve and having two handle arms angularly disposed at one end of the sleeve. The hollow sleeve is slotted to define a spring chamber which receives a predetermined length of an awning spring therein. At the end of the winder opposite the handle member is a recessed slot which terminates in a circumferential notch adapted to engage an awning spring leg. A stop member affixed to the handle member and in a sliding relationship therewith, slides along the handle member into the spring chamber to engage the awning spring.
