A controller for controlling a plurality of lighting devices configured for wireless communications in a facility includes a data communications interface communicating with at least one of the devices. The controller further includes a control module configured to provide a control signal to the data communications interface for communicating to a transceiver associated with the device and for turning off the device according to an algorithm wherein the control signal is provided based on a time of day and/or a sensed condition relating to use of the facility. The transceiver reports device data to the control module to quantify a reduction in power obtained by controlling the devices according to the algorithm.

System and method for controlling lighting

A lighting device includes a substantially cylindrical tube defining an interior and an exterior, and a longitudinal axis extending between a first end and a second end. The first end of the tube defines a substantially cylindrical opening disposed in a plane at a first angle that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, and the second end of the tube defines a substantially elliptical opening disposed in a plane at a second angle that is substantially non-perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. A reflective surface is provided on the interior of the tube, and a substantially cylindrical flashing is provided about the exterior of the tube. A substantially transparent dome is coupled to the tube proximate the first end, and a diffuser is coupled to the tube proximate the second end.

A light fixture includes a raceway, a lampholder, and a power pack. The raceway includes an aperture and a locking aperture. The lampholder is electrically connected to a lampholder connector. The power pack includes a power pack cover and a ballast. The power pack cover includes a latching end. The ballast includes a power input connector adapted to electrically connect to a power cord and a ballast output connector adapted to electrically connect to the lampholder connector. The latching end includes a flange adapted to mate with the aperture of the raceway and a locking protrusion adapted to mate with the locking aperture of the raceway such that the power pack is detachably mountable to the raceway.

One embodiment relates to a method of sealing a gap formed between each end cap of a fluorescent bulb and a protective sleeve, where the fluorescent bulb is disposed within the protective sleeve to form a bulb and sleeve assembly with the gap defined between an external surface of the end caps and an internal surface of the protective sleeve. The method comprises rotating the bulb and sleeve assembly and injecting a sealant in the gap associated with each end cap as the bulb and sleeve assembly rotate to provide a continuous bead of sealant between the end caps and the protective sleeve.

Method and apparatus for mounting a light sleeve

A transformer wiring method and apparatus for fluorescent lighting are described. The fluorescent lighting apparatus includes a transformer and a ballast. An installer is easily able to balance the system load because each fluorescent lighting apparatus includes its own transformer and may be connected directly to a facility's three phase power distribution while still operating at rated voltages. Moreover, the ballast is protected from surges and stray voltages thereby reducing the frequency of ballast failures.

Lighting fixture

A system is provided for automatically controlling a light level of an interior space. The system may include a light sensor, a transmitter, and a lighting system. The light sensor measures a light level of an interior space and sends the measured light level to the transmitter. The transmitter is in electrical communication with the light sensor. The transmitter is configured to receive the measured light level from the light sensor; to compare the received light level with a light level setting; to determine a value for a lighting indicator based on the comparison; to define a control signal including the determined value; and to send the defined control signal to a first receiver. The lighting system may include a light fixture and a second receiver mounted on the light fixture. The second receiver is configured to receive the control signal, to extract the determined value from the received control signal, and to adjust a light level of the light fixture based on the extracted value.

Method and system for controlling a lighting system

A light fixture includes a lampholder mounted to a raceway, where the lampholder is electrically connected to a lampholder connector. A power pack includes a power pack cover and a ballast. An outer surface of the power pack cover includes an emissive coating such that heat generated by the ballast is emitted from the power pack cover. The ballast is mounted in direct contact with the power pack cover such that the heat generated by the ballast is conducted from the ballast to the power pack cover. The ballast includes a power input connector adapted to electrically connect to a power cord and a ballast output connector adapted to electrically connect to the lampholder connector.
