A system has a drive mechanism affixed to an auger to selectively impart rotational forces to the auger for movement of pellet fuel for a cooking grill, and a lever arm affixed in a pivoting relationship to the drive mechanism and to a fixed location separate from the drive mechanism such that manipulation of the lever arm results in longitudinal movement of the auger.

An opening is defined in a wall, the opening defining a plurality detents along a lower edge thereof. A vent cover affixed to the outer wall such that the vent cover is rotatable to cover and uncover the opening. An indexing mechanism selectively fits into each of the plurality of detents and retain the vent cover from rotation.

Indexed vent for natural draft cooking devices

A system having a hopper that receives fuel pellets and direct the pellets under gravity feed to an auger that moves the pellets into a firepot inside a cooking chamber of a grill. The system includes a door below the auger that has a closed position that retains fuel pellets in the auger such that the fuel pellets feed to the auger, and has an opened position to allows the pellets to empty from the hopper and away from the auger. A closing mechanism allows a user to selectively open or close the door.

Hopper cleanout and pellet handling mechanism

An enclosure for use in a cooking grill. The enclosure has a lower portion defining an opening that receives combustion gases from a combustion source via a bottom opening, and an upper portion interposing the lower portion and the cooking grate and having a floor with an opening that receives the lower portion and combustion gases therefrom and directs them to the cooking grate. The floor slopes to a grease drain.

A system includes a smoker having a cooking chamber and a firebox in fluid communication with the cooking chamber. The system includes a cooking grate within the cooking chamber, a first exhaust opening in the cooking chamber proximate the firebox, and a plurality of generally horizontal baffles below the cooking grate. At least one of these is situated near the firebox to direct smoke away from the firebox before it rises above a level of the cooking grate.

Smoker with variable configuration

A floor and an upright sidewall formed from two vertically coaxial components, each component having a floor baffle with a plurality of floor openings defined therein, each floor retained within a respective upright sidewall with a plurality of sidewall openings defined therein. The floor openings and the sidewall openings cooperate between the two coaxial components such that flow of gases through the floor and upright sidewall of the baffle structure is controlled by rotation of the two vertically coaxial components relative to one another.

Pellet smoker

A combustion chamber has an inner wall defining an inner chamber. The inner wall is perforated to admit combustion air into the inner chamber. The combustion chamber has an outer wall defining an outer chamber. The outer wall is perforated to admit combustion air from a pressurized air plenum to the inner wall. The inner and outer wall are spaced apart such that air may flow between the inner and outer walls.

The first diameter is greater than the second diameter and a ledge is formed between the at least one generally cylindrical segment of a first diameter and the at least one generally cylindrical segment of a second diameter when the two are joined one atop the other.
