Protective molded resilient flexible plastic package for a printed circuit board with a base and a cover member. The base and cover members have border regions with locking elements to detachably hold base and cover together to close the package. The border regions of one member has a wall which defines a step surface for contacting a marginal region of a surface of the board and a projection spaced from the step surface to engage the other surface of the board when this is in contact with the step surface. The other member has a rigid board engaging element for engaging the other surface of the board when the package is closed.

Protective plastic package for printed circuit boards

A carrier for holding a circuit board while passing round an automated insertion line has a rectangular frame with support members extending in from the inner periphery. In a particular example, the support members on three sides have support surfaces and lateral locating surfaces. Spring retaining members are provided, one above each support surface. On the fourth side, support members only have support surfaces in the example. At each end of the fourth side, a laterally deflectable cantilever spring member holds down the circuit board along the fourth side. An external flange provides a support for the carrier on a conveyor. The inner periphery is shaped to avoid interference with the solder wave and to avoid causing turbulence.

Circuit board carrier

An integral transmitter and modular jack assembly for a telephone set has a hollow housing for the transmitter and the modular jack molded as one member connected by a web. In one form the axes of the housing transmitter and acoustic chamber at the front end of the transmitter are coaxial and normal to the surface of the handset. In another form, the axes of the housing and transmitter are coaxial, but are normal to the surface of the handset, with the axis of the acoustic chamber normal to the axis of the transmitter. Preferably a circuit pattern of lead frame form, has the spring contact members of the jack formed integral with the connecting leads to the transmitter and the connecting leads to the handset receiver.

A carrier for circuit boards comprises an open top box and a frame in the box. The frame is formed of four members--two sides and two ends which can be assembled to give predetermined variable spacing between the sides. Channel members clip to the inner surfaces of the sides. Box and frame are of metal, and the channel members can be of electrically conductive plastic. Metal lids can be provided. Boards are protected against static discharge damage and against dust and dirt. The top edge of the box has a rim into which the bottom of another box fits, for stacking. Electrically conductive foam material is placed on the bottom and at the sides to provide shock absorption.
