A handle assembly for a power tool includes a main handle having a first end configured to couple to the power tool and a handle bar having a first end coupled to the main handle. The handle bar has an isolation bushing positioned at a first vibration dampening point and configured to dampen vibrations transmitted between the main handle and the handle bar. A vibration dampening assembly couples the handle bar to the main handle at a second vibration dampening point and is configured to further dampen vibrations transmitted between the main handle and the handle bar. The vibration dampening assembly includes a collar that encircles the main handle and a pair of annular resilient member positioned between the collar and the main handle. The collar defines a pair of circumferential grooves that receive the annular resilient member, and the resilient members are configured to be compressed into the circumferential grooves such that dampening of vibrations and maneuverability of the power tool varies as the resilient member is compressed.

Handle assemblies with vibration dampening assemblies for concrete finishing machines

A vibratory percussion rammer includes a gear box, a percussion delivery unit extending downwardly from the gear box, and one or more slide bearings disposed in the percussion delivery unit between adjacent surfaces of reciprocating metal components. The slide bearings are made from a sheet of plastic material that is curved into the shape of a tube having a C-shape in cross section and define an open seam extending the entire length of the slide bearing. Slide bearings according to this design can be disposed in the percussion delivery unit to eliminate some or all of the metal-on-metal contact between reciprocating components, including between the ram and shaft assembly and spring box and the guide cylinder, the spring separator and the spring box, and the shaft of a ram and shaft assembly and an upper end of the spring box. The seam width of any slide bearing is wider than the anticipated width-wise thermal expansion of the slide bearing during normal operation. When a plurality of slide bearings are used, the slide bearing that is the easiest to replace has a seam selected to close and fail at a temperature in excess of normal operating temperature that is lower than the excess temperature leading to failure of other slide bearings.

Vibratory percussion rammers and methods of making vibratory percussion rammers

Vibratory percussion rammers and methods of making vibratory percussion rammers are provided. In one example, a vibratory percussion rammer includes a gear box, a percussion delivery unit extending downwardly from the gear box, and one or more slide bearings disposed in the percussion delivery unit between adjacent surfaces of reciprocating metal components. The slide bearings include a sheet of non-metal material that is curved into the shape of a tube having a C-shape in cross section. Slide bearings according to this design can be disposed in the percussion delivery unit to eliminate some or all of the metal-on-metal contact between reciprocating components, including between the ram and shaft assembly, spring box and the guide cylinder, the spring separator and the spring box, and the shaft of a ram and shaft assembly and an upper end of the spring box.

The present invention relates to a sports support pole, and more particularly to a reinforced support structure for supporting a pole such as a basketball pole or the like. The support structure may include a support bar positioned substantially in the center of the sports pole and may be held in position by one or more spacers. Cement may then be poured into the sports pole, with the spacers holding the support bar in position. Once the cement is cured, the support bar provides reinforcement to the sports pole against tension and shearing forces and the cement provides reinforcement against compression forces. An alternative embodiment provides for three or more support bars positioned at substantially equivalent intervals adjacent to the inner diameter of the sports pole.

A molded frame backboard assembly is disclosed including a unitary molded plastic frame and rebounding surface bonded thereto. The frame preferably is formed as one piece of plastic material having sufficient strength and rigidity to support the rebound surface and may include an internal reinforcing structure integrally molded therewith. The rebounding surface preferably is an acrylic sheet bonded at its edges to the peripheral edge of the frame. The peripheral edge of the frame is raised to support the rebounding surface such that, when attached, the rebounding surface sits flush with the peripheral edge of the frame so that the edges of the rebounding surface are not left exposed. The rebounding surface is bonded to the frame by flame treating or corona treating portions of the frame and applying an adhesive bonding material such as silicon thereto to secure the rebounding surface to the frame. A cavity is formed between the rebounding surface and the frame within the interior portion of the frame. The cavity can thereby be used for structural, design, and/or ornamental purposes.
