This elementary antenna includes a cavity delimited by front and rear faces and side walls, the front face being provided with first and second slots arranged in a cross, so that, when the cavity operates in a TE210 mode, a wave polarized perpendicularly to the first slot is emitted and when the cavity operates in a TE120 mode, a wave polarized perpendicularly to the second slot is emitted. This elementary antenna is characterized in that the rear face is brought to a reference electric potential, and in that the elementary antenna includes an excitation device, such as a metallized via, capable of exciting the front face through the cavity, the excitation device exciting the front face at a plurality of excitation points, distributed over the front face and presenting a common predefined impedance.

The elementary antennaincludes: two cross-shaped slotsdefining four half-slots; for each half-slot, excitation striplines, the first striplinebeing connected to a first viaand the second striplinebeing connected to a second via; an integrated circuitdelivering a plurality of ports; for each half-slot, tracks for feeding the strips, the first trackrunning from a first portto the first viaand the second trackrunning from a second portto the second via, the first and second ports being two successive ports of the integrated circuit, differentially connected to a transmitter/receiver channel by first and second power lines situated inside the integrated circuit, the lines and tracks running so that there is no crossing of the respective routes thereof.

Elementary antenna of the slot-fed patch type and active array antenna

Leaky wave antenna of AFSIW structure comprising a top substrate layer and a bottom substrate layer sandwiching an intermediate layer comprising a longitudinal aperture of length L defining a waveguide and whose width Wis delimited by two conductive lateral walls. The inner faces of the conductive lateral walls are coated with a layer of dielectric material of thickness w(z). The top layer has a longitudinal radiating slot of width Wf (z) facing the longitudinal aperture of the intermediate layer. The thickness w(z) of the dielectric coating varies along the longitudinal axis z according to a given law, defined so as to obtain variations along the axis z of the amplitude Alpha(z) and of the phase Beta(z) of the leaky wave of the guide.

Leaky wave antenna in AFSIW technology

This microwave component () comprises a waveguide () comprising an upper layer, a lower layer, and a central layer () intermediate between the upper layer and the lower layer, said layers defining a zone () of propagation of an electromagnetic wave, the propagation zone () extending along a propagation axis, and comprising a cavity () bounded by the upper layer, the lower layer, and, laterally, by two opposite lateral edges () of the central layer (). An elementary antenna includes a planar radiating device comprising a substantially flat radiating element having a center and a plane defined by (i) a straight line passing through the center and (ii) another straight line perpendicular to the straight line and passing through the center, the radiating element comprising pairs of excitation points arranged in a quadruplet of excitation points located at a distance from the lines, comprising a first pair of excitation points arranged substantially symmetrically in relation to the straight line and a second pair of excitation points arranged substantially symmetrically in relation to the other line, the elementary antenna comprising processing to supply differential excitation signals for (i) exciting the excitation points and/or (ii) shaping signals emitted from the excitation points.

Elementary antenna comprising a planar radiating device

Disclosed is an assembly for the propagation of waves of frequencies between 1 GHz and 10 THz, including: (a) a waveguide to guide the waves, the waveguide being produced from a plastic material, a part of the waves propagating inside this waveguide and another part of the waves propagating outside this waveguide; and (b) a protective covering which surrounds the waveguide delimiting one or more spaces between the waveguide and the covering, in which space or spaces the waves propagating outside the waveguide are contained, the protective covering thus forming a barrier to protect these waves from external disturbances.

An elementary antenna includes a planar radiating device comprising a substantially plane radiating element and a transmit and/or receive circuit comprising at least one amplification chain of a first type and at least one amplification chain of a second type, each amplification chain of the first type being coupled to at least one excitation point of a first set of at least one excitation point of the radiating element and each amplification chain of the second type being coupled to at least one point of a second set of points, the excitation points of the first and second set being distinct and the amplification chain of the first type being different from the amplification chain of the second type so that they exhibit different amplification properties.

The modulation includes in amplifying the microwave signal phase shifted by a given angle into a first sinusoidal signal, in order to obtain a first amplified signal; and in amplifying the microwave signal phase shifted by the given angle increased by &#x3c0; into a second sinusoidal signal phase shifted by &#x3c0; with respect to the first signal, in order to obtain a second amplified signal phase shifted by &#x3c0; with respect to the first amplified signal; the modulated microwave signal being the sum of the first amplified signal and the second amplified signal.
