A playback device includes a housing defining an acoustic volume therein, one or more audio transducers disposed at least partially within the housing, and an acoustic port extending through the housing. The acoustic port includes a wall defining a first aperture, a second aperture, and a passageway extending therebetween. The wall is at least partially curved along an axial direction, and a plurality of vanes coupled to the wall extend into the passageway such that the vanes define a plurality of channels extending axially within the passageway.

An audio transducer includes a frame, a magnet coupled to the frame, and a voice coil axially aligned with the magnet. The voice coil can be configured to receive a flow of electric signals from an amplifier, and, in response to the received flow of electric signals, correspondingly move a diaphragm toward or away from the magnet. The audio transducer can further include a collar coupled to the voice coil. The collar can have a flange extending radially outwardly from the voice coil. The audio transducer can further include a spider having a radially outer portion coupled to the frame and a radially inner portion coupled to the flange of the collar.

Embodiments for a speaker basket of a speaker assembly are provided. A speaker basket may include a central opening through which a speaker sub-assembly may be mounted and a conductive material that includes: (i) a central portion molded within the speaker basket, (ii) an input portion configured to be coupled to an output of an audio source, and (iii) an output portion configured to be coupled to an input of the speaker sub-assembly.

Embodiments for speaker terminals of a speaker assembly are provided. The speaker terminals may include a first rigid conductive structure having (i) a first input terminal configured to couple to a first output of an audio source and (ii) a first output terminal configured to couple to a first input of a voice coil, and a second rigid conductive structure having (i) a second input terminal configured to couple to a second output of the audio source and (ii) a second output terminal configured to couple to a second input of the voice coil. A speaker basket is molded about at least a portion the first rigid conductive structure and at least a portion of the second rigid conductive structure. Such a speaker basket having molded within the speaker terminals may be a component in a speaker assembly.

Disclosed is a weatherproof bulkhead mount that includes a weatherproof bulkhead housing having a portion sized to pass through a surface of a waterproof, sealed enclosure to an inside space of the enclosure and a portion sized to remain on the surface. The mount has a connector in the housing that provides electrical connection for an active component and is accessible from the outdoor environment, a circuit board in electrical connection with the connector for providing electrical communication between the connector and the inside space, and a removable cap to provide access to the connector when removed and to provide a weatherproof seal for the connector when not removed. Preferably, the 'active' component socket is a SIM socket. Preferably, the cap has a push/pull grip, an elastic tether and a tether retaining ring. The tether retaining ring can also function as a weatherproof bulkhead gasket against the weatherproof bulkhead.
