A crop bucket having an aux-bail release mechanism wherein movement of the chains is restrained such that an auxiliary hook actuating the release mechanism can do so in a smooth and controlled manner from a variety of angles and positions, while reducing or eliminating bucket roll from offset pulling. The release mechanism can include a carriage configured to translate along at least a portion of a mast and operatively connected to first and second clamshell portions such that movement of the carriage away results in rotation of the clamshell portions toward the open position.

A bearing system for accommodating angular movements occurring during operation of a linear actuator in a lifting structure for a ladle containing liquid steel in a continuous casting installation. Annular bearings on a piston and in an end wall of a piston and cylinder assembly allow free rotation of the piston about a first axis during controlled excursions of translating motion by the piston along the cylinder. A first attachment shaft is joined by cylindrical bearings to the arms of a first clevis for only sliding rotational motion about a second axis. A second attachment shaft secured to a second clevis carries a cylindrical bearing between the clevis arms for only sliding rotational motion about a third axis parallel with the second axis. A saddle is secured to an attachment on the piston rod and having an elongated annular load-bearing surface defining a fourth axis extending along a force transmitting junction with the first attachment shaft. A second pivot block anchored for support by the actuator support base has an elongated annular load-bearing surface defining a fifth axis extending along a force transmitting junction with the cylindrical bearing of the second attachment shaft.

Continuous casting ladle lift bearing system

A mold table for the continuous casting of large strands has two separate parts. The mold table parts are coupled to opposite ends of an elongated rigid rotatable member by respective linkages. A drive oscillates the rotatable member which, in turn, constrains the mold table parts to oscillate synchronously.

Synchronized oscillator for continuous casting apparatus

A split roll has several separate roll bodies which are arranged side-by-side axially of the roll. Adjoining roll bodies are mounted in a bearing assembly which includes a bearing for each of the roll bodies. The two bearings for a pair of adjoining roll bodies are located in a common housing which is overlapped by the respective roll bodies.
