A method for monitoring diffusion of a fluorescent marker within a region of biological tissue includes observing the marker's diffusion in a series of images captured by a camera and determining whether to display an image based at least in part on the evolution of the marker's spatial distribution as it perfuses through the tissue.

The invention relates to a method allowing the use of the information accessible by fluorescence imaging to be optimized. For this purpose, it implements the combination of a protocol for calibration and synchronization of a pulsed light for exciting a fluorescent marker, with the operation in 'rolling shutter' mode of a fluorescence camera. An appropriate correction factor allows the complete signal integrated by all of the photodiodes of the camera to be used so that no image is lost.

Imaging method with pulsed light

Measuring fluorescence within a zone on a surface of biological tissue uses a probe that comprises first and second sensors that are constituents of corresponding first and second optical systems and that are fixed relative to each other. The first sensor is configured to detect fluorescent light emitted at said surface and the second sensor detects visible light. The measurement includes projecting a mark onto the zone, and, based on a position of an image of the mark on the second sensor, localizing and locating fluorescence detected by the first sensor in an image of the zone. The image is produced in visible light. The mark is a light mark that is detectable by said second sensor.

Method and device for measuring the fluorescence emitted at the surface of biological tissue

A method for correcting a fluorescence image of an object, for example a biological tissue that can include fluorescent agents. The distance between a fluorescence probe generating the fluorescence image and the object examined is measured. This distance is used to apply a correction function to the fluorescence image. The method may find application in perioperative fluorescence imaging for diagnosis and monitoring of evolution of pathologies, for example of cancers.
