A flow control device for conveying a fluid therethrough includes a port having an engaging end configured for engagement with a tube fitting and an inner surface defining a passageway configured to provide fluid communication through the flow control device. A shoulder is formed on the inner surface of the port adjacent the engaging end. The shoulder defines a first seating surface and a second seating surface. A protuberance is formed on one of the first seating surface and the second seating surface.

A resonator for a vehicle is provided, including a housing having at least one chamber formed therein. The housing has at least one aperture formed in a wall thereof. The housing is in fluid communication with an air conduit of the vehicle. At least one flexible member is disposed within the chamber of the housing. The flexible member includes an outer portion and an inner extension protruding from the outer portion which vibrates to attenuate low frequency sound energy transmitted from the air conduit.

A hydrocarbon adsorption assembly for an air induction system is disclosed. The hydrocarbon adsorption assembly includes a fluid conduit having an outer surface and a spaced apart inner surface to form a fluid path therein, the conduit including a recessed area formed in the inner surface thereof. A hydrocarbon trap is disposed in the recessed area of the fluid conduit to adsorb hydrocarbons passing through the conduit. The recessed area and the hydrocarbon trap cooperate to cause a portion of an air flowing through the flow path of the conduit to flow through the hydrocarbon trap to facilitate a purging thereof.

A sound generator for a vehicle is provided, including a hollow drum having a sound radiation panel structurally and acoustically coupled thereto. The drum has an aperture formed in an outer wall thereof. The drum is adapted to be in fluid communication with an air conduit of the vehicle. The sound radiation panel covers at least a portion of the aperture and is adapted to radiate sound energy to at least one of an engine compartment and an interior of the vehicle. In one aspect of the present invention, a hydrocarbon trapping device is provided, including a conduit and an adsorbing element positioned within the conduit. The conduit includes a wall having a wall thickness and the adsorbing element has an adsorbing element thickness that is generally equal to or less than the wall thickness. Furthermore, the adsorbing element defines a leading edge, a trailing edge, and a flow path extending between the leading and trailing edges in a direction substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the conduit.
