An electrical connector assembly includes first and second electrical connectors that are identical in structure. The first electrical connector includes a first housing component having a terminal recess provided therein, a second housing component having a terminal recess provided therein, and a wire terminal assembly including an electrical terminal that is supported by the terminal recesses provided in the first and second housing components of the first electrical connector. The second electrical connector also includes a first housing component having a terminal recess provided therein, a second housing component having a terminal recess provided therein, and a wire terminal assembly including an electrical terminal that is supported by the terminal recesses provided in the first and second housing components of the second electrical connector. The electrical terminal of the first electrical connector and the electrical terminal of the second electrical connector engage one another.

Electrical connector assembly having identical electrical connectors

A connector pair, which is selectively separable, includes a first connector configured to secure first terminals of a first connector wire therein and a second connector, identical to the first connector, configured to secure second terminals of a second connector wire therein. Each of the first and second connectors includes a lower housing including a wire retention channel that receives the respective first or second connector wire therein, terminal retention channels that receive the respective first or second terminals therein, and a latch connector. An upper housing includes securement members that lock to the respective lower housing to retain the respective first or second connector wires and the respective first or second terminals therein. A latch is configured to mate with the latch connector of the opposed connector to retain the first and second connectors together.

Identical male and female connector

An electrical connector includes a housing having an interior space and a retaining finger extending into the interior space. An electrical terminal and a terminal position assurance are each disposed within the interior space of the housing. The terminal position assurance is movable relative to the housing between (1) a pre-lock position, wherein the retaining finger prevents the electrical terminal from being withdrawn from the interior space of the housing, and the terminal position assurance does not prevent the retaining finger from moving relative to the housing; (2) a service position, wherein the retaining finger does not prevent the electrical terminal from being withdrawn from the interior space of the housing; and (3) a lock position, wherein the retaining finger prevents the electrical terminal from being withdrawn from the interior space of the housing, and the terminal position assurance prevents the retaining finger from moving relative to the housing.

Electrical connector having electrical terminal servicing feature

An electrical connector includes a connector housing having a first end and an opposed second end, a pair of release stops extending generally radially outward and adjacent to the first end, and a pair of deflection buttons extending longitudinally cantilevered from a pivot base having a lateral axis and having free ends extending toward the first end and located adjacent to and radially outward from respective ones of the release stops when in an unflexed state. The electrical connector also includes a latch arm extending longitudinally cantilevered from the pivot base toward the second end, with a free end of the latch arm including a latch lock configured to selectively engage a barb on a mating connector.

A manual disconnect for an electric circuit includes a base with primary terminals and an interlock connector. A plug assembly has fuse terminals and an interlock resistor assembly. The plug assembly is adapted to be moved relative to the base between a disconnected position, a primary circuit engaged position, and an interlock position. The plug assembly is moved linearly and rotationally relative to the base when moving between these positions. The manual disconnect also includes a connector position assurance assembly. The connector position assurance assembly includes a connector position assurance button that is movable relative to the plug assembly. The connector position assurance button can be moved between a pre-lock position and an assurance position. When located in the assurance position, the connector position assurance assembly prevents the plug assembly from rotating relative to the base.

An electrical connector includes a connector housing with a terminal cavity. The connector housing includes a non-conducting bridge. The non-conducting bridge is located in the terminal cavity.

Electrical connector with touch protection feature

A manual disconnect includes a housing and a base attached to the housing by a fastener. The base includes primary terminals. The manual disconnect also includes a plug assembly that includes fuse terminals and a bolt cover. The plug assembly is movable relative to the base between a disconnected position wherein the fuse terminals are not engaged with respective primary terminals, and a primary circuit engaged position, wherein the fuse terminals are engaged with respective primary terminals. When the plug assembly is in the primary circuit engaged position the bolt cover is positioned to prevent the fastener from being removed from the housing. A handle or cover part of the plug assembly is then rotated to a locked position with respect to the base. Then, the plug assembly can be moved further in the insertion direction to close an interlock circuit, allowing current to flow in the primary circuit.

Manual service disconnect with screw cover

A manual disconnect for an electric circuit includes a base with primary terminals and an interlock connector. A plug assembly includes fuse terminals and an interlock resistor assembly. The plug assembly is movable relative to the base between a disconnected position, wherein the fuse terminals are not engaged with respective primary terminals, and a primary circuit engaged position, wherein the fuse terminals are engaged with respective primary terminals. The plug assembly is also movable to an interlock position, wherein the interlock connector is engaged with the interlock resistor assembly. The plug assembly is moved in an insertion to move the plug assembly from the disconnected position to the primary circuit engaged position, and is rotated about an axis to move from the primary circuit engaged position to the interlock position.

Manual service disconnect for an electric circuit

An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing having a plurality of terminal-receiving passages. An end cap is coupled to a rear end of the housing and includes a plurality of through passages aligned with the terminal-receiving passages in the housing. A plurality of conductive terminals are insertable into the terminal-receiving passages in the housing from the rear termination end thereof through the through passages in the end cap. Each terminal includes a rear terminating end comprising a crimp section for crimping onto an electrical wire. The cross-sectional configuration of the crimp section relative to the cross-sectional configuration of the respective through passage in the end cap prevents the terminal from rotating as the crimp section passes through the through passage in the end cap.
