According to one embodiment, a method comprises automatically uploading device information from a first network device in a first operating state to a second network device in response to an event, such as an initial power up. The second network device is part of the cloud, and thus, providing cloud-based services. Subsequent to the uploading of the device information, the first network device receives information controlling the operation of the first network device based on the device information.

Zero touch provisioning

The present invention comprises a system and method for determining an estimated position of a wireless mobile client device operating in a communications environment covered by a wireless local area network. The received signal strength of the wireless mobile client device is measured by one or more access points serving devices in the communications environment. In a preferred embodiment, the error between the received signal strength measured by the access points and the expected received signal strength at a plurality of locations in the communications environment is calculated. The location of the device is determined from the error.

Wireless client position estimating system and method

A management of wireless and wired computer network environments in which rogue and other devices that may affect the performance and/or security of the wireless computer network can be detected. Specifically, the present invention discloses a method and system of detecting all interfaces, Media Access Control (MAC) addresses and radio MAC addresses (BSSIDs) affiliated with a rogue device and compiling this information into a database. As a result, the present invention reduces the number of alerts that one rogue device can generate and increases the accuracy and speed of locating the rogue device within a network.

Method for detecting rogue devices operating in wireless and wired computer network environments

According to one embodiment of the invention, a method for altering stored firmware within a network device comprises receiving, by a first network device, information to download firmware. This information is provided from the first network device to at least a second network device, which is communicatively coupled to the first network device. The information enables the second network device to access a second version of firmware different than a first version of firmware installed on the second network device.
