The invention relates to a method for recycling respiratory protection masks comprising a plurality of layers manufactured from a single thermoplastic polymer chosen from polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polylactic acid, homopolymers and copolymers of polyamide 6 (PA6) and long-chain polyamides such as PA11 or PA12, and comprising a filtration layer made of polyvinylidene fluoride.

The invention relates to a process to produce a stable fluoropolymer latex using non-fluorinated surfactant with greater thermal stability. The polymerization is run at pressures greater than typically used. The resulting polymer exhibit improved melt color stability as compared to those produced under similar conditions at lower pressures.

Process for making a fluoropolymer dispersion

Fluoropolymer thermoplastic elastomer

The invention relates to biosourced vinylidene difluoride. The invention also relates to methods for preparation of biosourced vinylidene difluoride from various renewable raw materials. The invention also relates to homopolymers of vinylidene difluoride obtained from polymerization of said monomer, and also copolymers obtained by copolymerization of said monomer with one or several compatible comonomers. Finally, the invention relates to the use of said homopolymers or copolymers in applications, such as chemical engineering or electronics, in particular mass-market electronic devices.

The present invention relates to a process for producing a stable fluorinated latex by emulsion polymerization in the absence of fluorinated surfactant, stabilized by an amphiphilic block copolymer formed in situ. The present invention relates to a binder which can be used in a lithium-ion battery, comprising at least one polyvinylidene fluoride and at least one acrylic copolymer including monomers having functional groups which have an affinity for metals or are capable of fixing to the metals. According to the invention, in a characteristic manner, said polyvinylidene fluoride is such that a solution of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone containing 5 wt % of said polyvinylidene fluoride has a viscosity, measured at 23&#xb0; C. with an imposed shear rate of 30 rpm, of 125 mPa&#xb7;s to 1500 mPa&#xb7;s.

The present invention concerns a fluorinated polymer composition, methods for producing same, and products that can be produced from said composition. More particularly, the invention concerns a thermoplastic polymer composition comprising the following components A, B and C: A&#x2014;a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) homopolymer comprising a fraction of ultra high molecular weight chains (UHMCF); B&#x2014;a vinylidene fluoride (VDF) elastomeric copolymer and at least one other fluorinated comonomer copolymerisable with VDF, and C&#x2014;a VDF homopolymer having a lower viscosity than component A.

Fluorinated polymer composition

The invention relates to a multi-layer weatherable film structure having an outer layer of a highly weatherable film, a layer having a high thermal deformation temperature, an optional tie layer, and a thin layer of polyolefin or polyamide. The highly weatherable film layer preferably is polyvinylidene fluoride. The polyolefin or polyamide layer is less than 500 microns in thickness, and preferably the whole film structure is less than 750 microns thick. The polyolefinjpolyamide side of the film structure can easily be adhered to many different substances&#x2014;especially polyolefins and polyamides. This film can be used to provide a highly weatherable protective layer a substrate. One useful application for the film is in a photovoltaic module to protect the back side of the module from weathering and abrasion. The multi-layer film structure can be adhered to a typical polyolefin-based encapsulant layer and used as a backsheet encapsulant in a photovoltaic module.

The invention relates to a multilayer film of A/B/C structure comprising: a first layer of composition A, comprising a fluoropolymer; a second layer of composition B, comprising a filled fluoropolymer; and a third layer of composition C, comprising a fluoropolymer, characterized in that the first and third layers have a melting point above 150&#xb0; C., measured by DSC, and in that the transmittance in visible light is less than 30% for a multilayer film thickness of 25 &#x3bc;m. The invention also relates to the use of a fluoropolymer-based film preferably for a photovoltaic cell back panel, a high-performance textile or a metal, the film adhering to the substrate by means of an adhesive layer placed between the substrate and the film.

The invention relates to a multi-layer structure containing from the inside towards the outside: a layer C1 comprising at least one functionalized fluorinated polymer optionally mixed with at least one compatible fluorinated polymer; a layer C2 containing at least one adhesive binder; a layer C3 containing at least one polyolefin, preferably a polyethylene; a layer C4 containing at least one adhesive binder; a barrier layer C5 containing at least one barrier polymer, optionally reinforced against impacts; the layers are arranged against each other in the above mentioned order. The invention also relates to the use of this mull-layered structure for storing or transferring fuel.

The invention relates to an extrusion agent comprising: at least one heterogeneous PVDF (A), in other words a copolymer of VDF and at least one comonomer of VDF, comprising by weight at least 50%, advantageously at least 75%, of VDF which has a melting point Tm (expressed in &#xb0; C.)&#x3e;172-549 m, preferably &#x3e;1.1&#xd7;(172-549 m), where m denotes the overall molar percentage of comonomer(s); and at least one interface agent (B), which are optionally diluted in a polyolefin (C). The heterogeneous PVDF preferably has a Tm of between 160 and 172&#xb0; C. Advantageously it is also a VDF-HFP copolymer containing, by weight, from 88% to 92% of VDF and from 8% to 12% of HFP. The extrusion agent is used to reduce or eliminate the surface defects which arise during the extrusion of a thermoplastic resin (D). This resin may be a polyolefin, a styrenic resin, a polyester or a PVC. Optionally it may also be filled, i.e., may contain dispersed organic or inorganic particles.

Extrusion agent based on a heterogeneous PVDF

The invention relates to a coating composition comprising a radiation grafted functionalized fluoropolymer. This coating is preferably, in the form of a powder coating. The coating can be used on inorganic substrates, especially un-primed metals. The invention also relates to the coated inorganic substrate and to the use of the coating composition to protect the inorganic substrate, especially from corrosion.

The invention concerns a conductive composition comprising (by weight): 30 to 60 parts of a fluid PVDF; 25 to 62 parts of a viscous PVDF; 8 to 13 parts of a conductive filler; 0 to 2 parts of a fire retardant agent; 0 to 0.05 parts of a nucleating agent, based on a total of 100 parts. Preferably, it comprises by weight: 35 to 50 parts of a fluid PVDF; 45 to 55 parts of a viscous PVDF; 8 to 13 parts of a conductive filler; 0 to 2 parts of a fireproof agent; 0 to 0.05 parts of a nucleating agent, based on a total of 100 parts. Preferably, the conductive composition has a viscosity in the molten state at 230&#xb0; C. of less than 10Pa&#xb7;s, preferably between 10and 10Pa&#xb7;s. The invention also concerns multilayer structures combining the conductive composition and a thermoplastic polymer or a metal.
