A medication and event monitoring system operates through the internet, interconnecting and accommodating the transfer of information and data between a patient center, a caregiver/researcher center, and a pharmacist. A control center is provided in intercommunication with the patient, caregiver and pharmacist for accommodating the exchange of information and data regarding medication usage between and among the persons of interest. The patient center also includes physical sensing devices, such as for blood pressure, temperature, and the like for obtaining and transmitting information. The patient communicates through a smartphone, and further communicates through pill dispensing devices housed in a docking system that is in intercommunication with the various centers. The pill dispensing devices accommodate pills of various sizes and shapes, are easily used by a patient, and have associated sensing and recording devices for ensuring that the medication is taken in the appropriate quantities and at the appropriate time.

Medication event monitoring system

A pillbox that can be used with a portable electronic device ('PED') such as a cellular telephone or personal digital assistant includes a generally cubic body portion that is attached to one end of a PED. The body portion defines a compartment within which medication can be placed. Preferably, an extension projects from one wall of the body portion and the extension is connected to the PED. The body portion preferably conforms generally to the contour of the PED. A door is connected to the body portion to permit selective access to the compartment. Other embodiments of the invention include a holster within which the PED can be inserted. In some of the embodiments, the door defines the medication-storage compartment.

Pillbox

A memory engagement game is based on Montessori educational principles and employs elements of a trivia game and a bingo game. The game includes a game board having a plurality of openings, a movable cover associated with each opening, a plurality of game cards that can be inserted into the game board, and a plurality of calling cards. Each calling card displays a question, and each game card displays answers to each question. When a game card is inserted into the game board, the answers are in register with the openings. The player can move any given cover to mask the answer displayed in the associated opening. During play, the questions are read aloud and players cover the openings that display the correct answers. Play continues until one or more players covers all of the openings on his game board. The game improves the players' memories while permitting the players to socialize in a non-competitive environment.

A foldable utility cart () includes a pair of spaced, parallel frame members (). A collar () is disposed about each of the frame members () and is slidable therealong. A pair of front legs () and a pair of rear legs () are pivotally connected to the collars (). The front and rear legs () each support a wheel (). The collars () can be moved from a raised position where the legs () and wheels () are folded adjacent each other, to a lowered position where the legs () and wheels () are extended to support the cart () for movement on the ground. The cart () includes a moveable basket carrier assembly (). The basket carrier assembly () includes toothed racks () that are connected to channel members () for movement therealong. A ratchet clutch () is used to permit up or down movement of the racks () and to maintain the racks () at any desired vertical position.

Foldable utility cart with lift mechanism

A phonetic transliteration card display includes a display board to which a plurality of display cards can be secured removably. The card display enables a person who speaks a first language, but not a second language, to speak simple phrases in the second language and be understood by a listener who speaks only the second language. This result is accomplished by displaying a source phrase in the first language on each display card, along with a target phrase that constitutes a translation of the source phrase in the second language. A phonetic transliteration of the target phrase is displayed in the first language. When the phonetic transliteration is read aloud by the speaker, the listener will hear, and therefore understand, the target phrase. The cards can be color-coded by subject matter, if desired. The display board contains a chamber that permits a number of display cards to be stored. The display board is constructed such that a number of similar boards can be connected to each other. This permits a number of display cards to be viewed simultaneously.
