A portable antenna system including a reflector with a center axis, a feed at the center axis of the reflector, a post with a rotatable bracket on the post. The system also includes a skew drive mounted to the bracket and having a first output coupled to the reflector at the center axis thereof to adjust the skew angle of the reflector, an elevation motor configured to rotate the rotatable bracket to vary the elevation of the reflector, and an azimuth motor configured to rotate the post to vary the azimuth of the reflector.

Antenna positioning system with automated skewed positioning

A low power, lightweight, collapsible and rugged antenna positioner for use in communicating with geostationary, geosynchronous and low earth orbit satellite. By collapsing, invention may be easily carried or shipped in a compact container. May be used in remote locations with simple or automated setup and orientation. Azimuth is adjusted by rotating an antenna in relation to a positioner base and elevation is adjusted by rotating an elevation motor coupled with the antenna. Manual orientation of antenna for linear polarized satellites yields lower weight and power usage. Updates ephemeris or TLE data via satellite. Algorithms used for search including Clarke Belt fallback, transponder/beacon searching switch, azimuth priority searching and tracking including uneven re-peak scheduling yield lower power usage. Orientation aid via user interface allows for smaller azimuth motor, simplifies wiring and lowers weight. Tilt compensation, bump detection and failure contingency provide robustness.

Compact portable antenna positioner system and method

A window-type air conditioner mounting assembly includes upper and lower elongated rails defining a path along which a supported air conditioner is movable between a first, nonoperative position within the room and remote from the window and a second, operative position in which the air conditioner is disposed in projecting relation through the open window. A flap pivotally supported on the lower rails adjacent the window is engageable with the lowered window sash to create an effective barrier against ambient air leakage when the air conditioner is operatively disposed for use; in the first or storage condition of the air conditioner unit, on the other hand, the window sash is fully and normally closeable in front of the unit to thereby assure an effective seal against air leakage and to protect the air conditioner against the weather elements.

Window-type air conditioner mounting assembly

A pool cover including a central frame provided with tubular extension and a ring supported by an inflatable member which floats on the water surface. Tubular supports are connected on the pool perimeter and are connected into the tubular extension. The connections are made by spring-loaded buttons in the tubular supports which fit into slots on the pool perimeter and tubular extensions respectively. A flexible sheet fits on the frame formed by the central frame and tubular supports.
