A homogeneous liquid detergent composition comprising sodium trimetaphosphate, potassium hydroxide and an alkali metal silicate, the composition being substantially free of added potassium salts with a K/Na weight ratio of less than 1 and preferably in a gel form.

Homogeneous detergent gel compositions for use in automatic dishwashers

Cleaning compositions contain a bleach-stable water dispersible or water-soluble yellow colorant and either a chlorine bleach or an oxygen bleach. The compositions may take the form of automatic dishwashing detergents, in granular or liquid form, and preferably also have a lemon-like scent to compliment the yellow color.

Compositions suitable for use as detergents comprise a non-silicate-coated alkali metal phosphate salt hydrated to at least about 50% by weight, and an inorganic salt selected from alkali metal carbonates and sulfates. To achieve uniform distribution in the dryer, the adjuvant, such as a fabric softening agent in accordance with the present invention, is combined with a distributing agent spreadable under the dryer conditions, the concentration of the distributing agent being at least about 5% by weight of the mixture of adjuvant and distributing agent. Novel compositions of matter and articles suitable for use in the practice of this invention are also disclosed.

The present invention relates to a powder detergent composition of improved solubility and methods of making them. The composition comprises a silicate free alkaline blend consisting essentially of about 10-60% builder, about 0.6-6% surfactant. about 20-50% alkaline agent and 0-70% filler; and an admixture of said blend with about 10-30% of solid alkali metal silicate and a chlorine donor providing about 0.4-1.5% available chlorine, the pH of the resulting finished product being about 10.4 or greater at about a 0.25% product use concentration.

The premature release of chlorine from chlorine-releasing bleaching agents in a particulate detergent, caused by the action on such a bleaching agent by some other component in the detergent, is prevented by compacting and granulating a mixture of said other component, preferably with additional constituents which do not have the chlorine-releasing effect, and then mixing those granules with the chlorine-releasing bleaching agent and other appropriate detergent constituents. The resulting novel detergent is a mixture of the thus-produced granules with particles of the said other appropriate detergent constituents.
