Accordingly, the embodiments herein provide a hybrid modular multilevel converter. The hybrid modular multilevel converter includes one or more chain links, one or more high voltage switches and a plurality of inductors. The one or more chain links are formed by sub modules. The one or more high voltage switches are formed by semi-controlled devices or fully controlled or any other suitable semiconductor devices. The plurality of inductors are arranged in the one or more chain links to limit circulating current among the one or more chain links. The one or more chain links are configured to enhance a power handling capability of the hybrid modular multilevel converter.

Hybrid modular multilevel converter

Embodiments herein provide a system and method for controlling extraction of power from multiple Photo Voltaic (PV) arrays. At least two converters and at least two Photo Voltaic (PV) arrays are configured. The power extraction is controlled through one of an injection of Direct Current (Idc) into output current of each of the at least two converters, or by performing a phase shifting of each of the output current of each of the at least two converters.

Method for controlling extraction of power from multiple photo voltaic (PV) arrays and system thereof

Embodiments herein provide an ACsDC converter for generating an ACsDC signal in which AC or DC source can be used to generate the ACsDC signal. The structure of the ACsDC converter consists of three stages, viz., input, isolation, and output. At the input stage, a DC voltage is converted to two AC voltages using power electronic converters. The isolation stage consists of transformers for isolating load and source terminals. The secondary voltages of the isolation transformers are used for obtaining the AC and DC components of the ACsDC signal. At the output stage, the AC component of the output voltage is obtained by using an AC-DC converter and a DC-AC converter. The magnitude, phase, and frequency of the AC component can be controlled. The magnitude of the DC component is controlled using a modulation technique. The AC and the DC component can be combined to obtain the ACsDC signal.

Apparatus for generating AC superimposed DC signal

Embodiments herein disclose a hybrid multilevel inverter configured to obtain N-level output voltages based on operating one of FCs and a plurality of switches. In an embodiment, the multilevel inverter is a Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) Flying Capacitor (FC) based hybrid multilevel inverter. In an embodiment, the multilevel inverter is a stacked multi-cell NPC multilevel inverter.

Embodiments herein provide a modular multilevel converter configured to increase one of number of an output voltage level and an output current level. The modular multilevel converter includes a plurality of legs where each leg includes a plurality of arms. Each arm of the modular multilevel voltage source converter includes a main wave shaping (WS) circuit, an auxiliary WS circuit and an arm inductor. The main WS circuit includes one or more half bridge sub-module(s) that includes a capacitor. The auxiliary WS circuit includes one or more full bridge sub-module(s) that includes a capacitor. Each arm of the modular multilevel current source converter comprises a plurality of half-bridge modules connected in parallel, and a plurality of arm capacitor connected across the plurality of half-bridge modules and one or more auxiliary full bridge module(s).
