The present invention relates to a method for assisting the driver of a motor vehicle with a fishtailing trailer. A vehicle with a fishtailing trailer can be stabilized in an especially rapid manner in that, in a first state, the fishtailing of the trailer is analyzed by evaluating at least one vehicle state variable, and when critical fishtailing is detected, a warning is output to the driver in a second state so as to induce the driver to brake, and the driver&#x2014;provided he initiates braking&#x2014;is assisted in the braking operation by automatic actuation of the vehicle brakes, a brake pressure being set at which the most optimal vehicle deceleration possible is achieved.

Method for assisting the driver of a motor vehicle with a fishtailing trailer

Described is a device for stabilizing a vehicle in critical driving situations, including a vehicle dynamics control system having a control unit, including a vehicle dynamics control algorithm, and at least one actuator and an additional vehicle stability system having an associated actuator. Vehicle dynamics control may be executed in a particularly simple and trouble-free manner when the vehicle dynamics control algorithm is retrofitted with a distribution function which derives an actuating request for an actuator of the vehicle dynamics control system as well as an actuating request for at least one actuator of the vehicle stability system from a controller output variable.

A device and the method are for the recognition and rectification of the danger of rollover of a vehicle, outfitted with a regulating system, about a vehicle axis oriented in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Method and device for identifying and eliminating the risk of rollover

A device for detecting a pendulum motion of a vehicle. The device includes at least one first ascertainment arrangement, with which a lateral-motion-dynamics quantity is ascertained that represents the lateral motion dynamics of the vehicle. In addition, the device includes a second ascertainment arrangement with which a speed quantity is ascertained that describes the vehicular speed. With the aid of a third ascertainment arrangement it is ascertained, as a function of the at least one lateral-motion-dynamics quantity and the speed quantity, whether a pendulum motion of the vehicle exists. For that purpose, it is at least checked whether the at least one lateral-motion-dynamics quantity is greater than an associated threshold value and the speed quantity is greater than an associated threshold value. A pendulum motion of the vehicle exists when the lateral-motion-dynamics quantity is greater than the associated threshold value and when the speed quantity is greater than the associated threshold value.

Method and device for identifying a rolling motion in a vehicle

A device for controlling at least one vehicle motion quantity which describes a motion of a vehicle is presented. For this purpose, the device contains a control arrangement for activating actuators to control the vehicle motion quantity. The device also contains a determining arrangement for determining a poor road stretch quantity which describes the travel of the vehicle on a poor road stretch. The control arrangement is affected as a function of the poor road stretch quantity so that the sensitivity of the control arrangement is adapted to the travel of the vehicle on a poor road stretch.
