A foaming agent charging and mixing device comprises at least one mixing device and one foaming agent metering device, wherein the foaming agent charging and mixing device may be arranged between an plasticating screw and a mold. In order to improve the foaming agent charging and mixing device in a manner that the mixing with foaming agent is facilitated and at the same time a risk of obstruction of the foaming agent metering device is avoided, the foaming agent metering device is alternately opened and closed through the mixing device during operation thereof for supplying foaming agent to the plastic melting.

Foaming agent charging and mixing device

An injection assembly for an injection molding machine, with a continuously operating plasticizing unit, includes a piston-type injection unit and an arrangement for intermediate storage and discharge of melt. Several melt reservoirs with melt inlet openings are provided between the plasticizing unit and the piston-type injection unit. Melt lines that connect the melt reservoirs with each other and with the plasticizing unit extend to the melt inlet openings. The melt reservoirs include actuatable work pistons for discharging the melt, wherein the work pistons can open and close the melt inlet openings in the melt reservoirs to divert the melt flow. The disclosed injection unit increases the total volume of bufferable melt and allows individual and separate adjustment of the reservoir volumes and the discharge velocity of the individual melt reservoirs. In addition, switching valves can be eliminated since the melt flow is switched by the work pistons.

Injection unit for injection molding machines with continuously operating plasticizing unit

An injection unit for injecting plastic into a cavity of a mold includes an injecting device connectable between an extrusion die and the mold. The injecting device includes a mouth having a plurality of openings that is insertable into the mold so that the plastic flows through the plural holes into the mold. A drive is connectable to at least a portion of the injecting device for rotating the mouth portion and the plural opening of the injecting device about a central axis as the plastic flows through the holes into the mold.
