An apparatus of a first user equipment (UE) comprises one or more baseband processors to generate a message for a second UE to configure a New Radio (NR) vehicle-to-everything (V2X) link between the first UE and the second UE, wherein the message includes a Quality of Service (QoS) metric to encode a plurality of QoS parameters for the NR V2X link, and to encode a packet for the second UE according to the QoS parameter. The apparatus can include a memory to store the message.

QoS management aspects for NR sidelink to support advanced V2X use cases

An approach is described for a user equipment (UE) to provide vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication in a 5G new radio (NR) network. The UE includes processor circuitry that mode switches between two modes of resource allocation for the V2X communication, the two modes being a first mode and a second mode, wherein the first mode is a network scheduled resource allocation mode, and the second mode is a UE autonomous resource allocation mode. The UE also includes radio front end circuitry that communicates with a second UE using a V2X sidelink in the first mode or the second mode.

Methods for simultaneous support of and switching between scheduled and UE autonomous resource selection modes for NR V2X sidelink

A computer-readable storage medium stores instructions for execution by one or more processors of a UE. The instructions configure the UE for small data transmission (SDT) in a 5G NR network and cause the UE to perform operations comprising detecting while in an RRC_Inactive state, a radio link failure during a first SDT of UL data to a base station. A secure key for a second SDT is generated based on the radio link failure. A configuration message including an indication of the second SDT is transmitted to the base station. A response message including a UL grant is received from the base station. The UL data is encoded for the second SDT using the secure key. The second SDT is performed using the UL grant while the UE is in the RRC_Inactive state.

Some embodiments of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for sidelink connection establishment design to support unicast and groupcast communication for NR V2X in a wireless communication system. The apparatuses and methods include at least generating an announcement of support for a unicast or a groupcast communication for a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) service, generating one or more connection establishment request messages for a secure link establishment to a second UE, to support a V2X communication to enable the V2X service, where the one or more connection establishment request message includes: a first connection establishment request message that is transmitted over a PC5-S interface, and a second connection establishment request message that is transmitted over a PC5-RRC interface. The apparatuses and methods further include at least processing a response message from the second UE that accepts or rejects the connection establishment request message for the secure link establishment.

Methods and systems are provided to indicate assistance information for radio access technologies to support interface selection for New Radio (NR) Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) processes. An upper layer entity exchanges information with lower layer entity while the upper layer can continue to use the existing interface for V2X transmission until it is not able to use the current interface. The upper layer can be a V2X layer and the lower layer can be an Access Stratum (AS) layer. The upper layer can request availability information from the lower layer for other applicable interfaces. The upper layer then instructs the lower layer to provide assistance information for one or more applicable interface(s), depending on whether mapped to the ongoing service. In providing availability information, the lower layer can continuously measure criteria, such as channel conditions, to determine the availability of relevant interfaces and indicate the availability information to the upper layer.

This disclosure relates to embodiments New Radio (NR) vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication. Technology for a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) operable to encode a primary synchronization signal for transmission to a user equipment (UE) is disclosed. The gNB can identify a sequence d(n) for a primary synchronization signal. The sequence d(n) can be defined by: d(n)=1−2s(n), where s(n) is a maximum run length sequence (m-sequence) and s(n) is provided as s(n+7)=(s(n+4)+s(n))mod 2, where 0≤n≤127. The gNB can generate the primary synchronization signal based on the sequence d(n). The gNB can encode the primary synchronization signal for transmission to the UE.
