An automated peritoneal dialysis system and machine configured to perform dextrose mixing are disclosed. An example dialysis machine includes at least one pump, a first dialysate having a first dextrose level placed in fluid communication with the at least one pump, and a second dialysate having a second dextrose level placed in fluid communication with the at least one pump. The example dialysis machine also includes first and second valves placed between the first and second dialysates and the at least one pump. The example dialysis machine further includes a logic implementer programmed to operate the at least one pump and the first and second valves to mix the first and second dialysates so as to form a third dextrose level.

A dialysis system includes a dialysis machine including at least one dialysis fluid pump and a logic implementer configured to (i) receive a plurality of predetermined therapy prescriptions that have been approved remote from the dialysis machine by a doctor/clinician for a particular patient, at least two of the plurality of predetermined therapy prescriptions having different treatment durations, different dialysis fluids or different ultrafiltration removal amounts, (ii) store the plurality of predetermined therapy prescriptions for use in operating the dialysis machine, (iii) cause the stored therapy prescriptions to be presented, (iv) allow a selection of one or more of the presented therapy prescriptions for one or more upcoming treatment, and (v) operate the at least one dialysis fluid pump according to the selected one or more therapy prescriptions.

In a further embodiment, the logic implementer is programmed to select or suggest one of the therapy prescriptions to be run on the APD machine.

System and method for selection of stored dialysis therapy prescriptions

A dialysis method comprising coding a wireless receiver of a dialysis machine with at least one of an address or a personal identification number ('PIN'); and receiving at least one of blood pressure data from a blood pressure monitor wirelessly or patient weight data from a weight scale wirelessly, wherein the at least one coded address or PIN ensures that the at least one of the blood pressure data or the patient weight data is received by the receiver as opposed to a receiver of another dialysis machine.

The system also includes at least one of a scale or a blood pressure monitor including a wireless interface transmitter. The scale or blood pressure monitor is operable to send at least one of patient blood pressure data and patient weight data wirelessly, respectively, to the wireless interface receiver. The logic implementer is configured to store the patient blood pressure data or patient weight data. A server computer is configured to communicate with the logic implementer to receive the stored at least one patient blood pressure data and patient weight data.

A peritoneal dialysis system includes: an automated peritoneal dialysis ('APD') machine configured to remove ultrafiltrate ('UF') from a patient and record how much UF has been removed; and a logic implementer configured to (i) form a first moving average UF removed trend, (ii) determine a trending range around the first moving average UF removed trend, (iii) determine at least one of an upper and lower UF removed limit from the trending range, (iv) form a second moving average UF removed trend, and (v) alert if the second moving average UF removed trend moves outside of the at least one UF removed limit.
