Methods, media, and systems are provided for optimizing coverage and power usage in a network deploying an unlicensed band. A first transmission power associated with a primary carrier and a second transmission power associated with a secondary carrier are determined. Location data and channel state information from a user device utilizing the primary carrier and the secondary carrier are received. An interference level may be determined using the channel state information. Based on the location data and the interference level, the second transmission power associated with the secondary carrier is reduced and the first transmission power of the primary carrier is increased. In some aspects, a beamforming technique is applied for downlink transmissions via a 5G New Radio unlicensed band. In some aspects, upon detection of an increase of 3 dBi antenna gain, the second transmission power is reduced by 1 dBm.

Optimizing coverage and power usage in a network deploying an unlicensed band

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media herein provide for adjustment of a spectrum sharing allocation between devices operating on 5G and/or 6G technologies. An inter-operator scheduler receives common signals associated with 5G and/or 6G devices and determines time and/or frequency divisions and configurations to a shared technology spectrum to allocate spectrum resources. In response to determining an allocation of the shared spectrum, the shared spectrum can be efficiently shared among 5G and 6G devices in a dynamic and flexible manner.

Intra-operator terrestrial spectrum sharing in communication networks

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are described herein which dynamically provide an optimized mechanism for switching uplink waveforms within a cellular network. An uplink profile generally indicates a number of transmission ports and what uplink waveform is used by a user device to transmit to a base station. A power headroom, channel conditions, and signal to interference plus noise ratio are used to modify the uplink profile. These inputs may be compared to upper and lower threshold values to provide optimal conditions to switch from a Cyclic Prefix Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing waveform (CP-OFDM) to a Direct Fourier Transform Spread Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing waveform (DFT-s-OFDM).

Mechanism for uplink waveform switching

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media herein provide for adjustment of transmit power of a user device based on transitioning from one configuration to another configuration. Transitioning a user devices to a configuration may involve modifying the number of layers and/ports used for uplink communications. In response to modifying the number of layers and/or ports, a user device may alter the transmit power used for uplink communication so that a target power can be utilized by the user device. Adjustments to the transmit power enables a higher coverage and performance of the user device in a communication network.

Uplink transmission power adjustment in 5G NR communication networks

This disclosure describes techniques that enable a carrier aggregation of two or more carrier available carriers for uplink transmissions at a base station node. More specifically, a carrier aggregation controller may receive a resource allocation request from a base station node that is associated with an uplink transmission of user plane data from a client device. The carrier aggregation controller may determine a carrier aggregation for the uplink transmission and generate scheduling information for delivery to the base station node that is based at least in part on the carrier aggregation.
