A method of assigning data capacity to network slices in a mobile communications network comprises acquiring identifiers of the network slices managed by a device, an indication of types of services being provided in the identified network slices, number of data radio bearers (DRBs) served by each network slice and number of DRBs served by each service type in each network slice; adding the acquired identifiers, indication of types of services being provided, number of DRBs served by each network slice and number of DRBs served by each service type in each network slice; computing a slice weight for the data capacity to be assigned as a product of an initial weight indicating the data capacity being assigned and the number of DRBs divided by a sum; and assigning the data capacity to said each network slice in accordance with the computed slice weight.

Method and device for assigning data capacity to network slices in a mobile communications network

There is provided a method for managing power resources of a mobile network application program including application code, the method comprising: assigning a profile to each section of the application code, wherein each profile comprises information indicative of at least one of: a level of energy demand of the respective section, a level of functional priority of the respective section, and a level of accuracy of the functionality associated with the respective section; determining an operation mode for running the application program, wherein the operation mode includes one or more criteria which are to be satisfied by a profile assigned to a section of the application code in order for the respective section to be executed; selecting one or more sections of the application code which satisfy the criteria included in the operation mode; a running the application program by only executing the selected one or more sections.

Power resource management

Disclosed is a method performed by a wireless communication device for communicating with a wireless communication network, the network having network slices available for providing wireless access to the device, the network slices having mutually different network capabilities in terms of e.g. latency, bandwidth and reliability. The method comprises receiving, from the network, information on the network capabilities of the network slices, and obtaining a request from an application program of the device for communication resources. The method further comprises obtaining information on network capability preferences of the application program, and selecting one of the network slices for the application program based on the information on capabilities of the network slices and on the information on capability preferences of the application program. The method further comprises sending a request to the network for communication resources to use for communication over the selected network slice, and receiving, from the network, information on the communication resources to use for communication over the selected network slice.

Methods, wireless communication devices and systems adapted for network slicing scenarios

It is provided a method for managing radio bearer traffic between radio network nodes. The method is performed in a first radio network node and comprises the steps of: establishing a peer connection with a peer radio network node, the peer connection comprising a tunnel; ensuring a routing table of the first radio network node contains entries for each one of a local set of UEs attached to the first radio network node; transmitting an output route update message indicating that each one of the local set of UEs is attached to the first radio network node; receiving an input route update message from the peer radio network node, the input route update message indicating that each one in a peer set of UEs is attached to the peer radio network node; adjusting the routing table based on the peer set of UEs; and routing radio bearer traffic.

Managing radio bearer traffic between radio network nodes

There is provided a radio base station suitable for a wireless communications network. The radio base station is arranged to request a local IP address from a DHCP server the request including a local port number. The radio base station is further arranged to receive a response from the DHCP server comprising a local IP address, an external IP address and port forwarding information. The radio base station is also arranged to send a service record update to a DNS server, the service record update comprising the service capability information of the radio base station, the external IP address, and the port forwarding information.

Congestion control in a telecommunications network, in which a method of congestion control in a transport network is provided. A buffer state of a buffer is monitored by dynamically sampling the buffer such that the sampling rate is adjusted in dependence of the buffer state. Also, a condition indicative of congestion is determined in response to a change of the buffer state exceeding a predetermined limit. In response to determining the condition indicative of congestion, a congestion notification message is created. The created congestion notification message may then be transmitted to a second network node. The second network node may subsequently compensate for a detected congestion on the basis of a received congestion notification message.

Back-pressure control in a telecommunications network, in which a method of back-pressure control in a transport network is provided. A buffer state of a buffer is monitored. A condition indicative of back-pressure is also determined in response to a change of the buffer state passing a predetermined limit. In response to determining the condition indicative of back-pressure, a back-pressure notification message is created and, subsequently, transmitted to at least one second network node.

This disclosure provides methods and an access point node for ensuring proper and correct packet based synchronization in data communications systems and networks at distribution of synchronization packets from one Access Point over a WIFI transport link to another Access Point. The access point node provides dynamic transmission rate adaption with different coding and modulation schemes. The access point node comprises an identifier unit to identify each received synchronization packet, and further comprises a controller configured to set the transmission rate for said synchronization packet according to a predetermined synchronization packet transmission rule.

A source network node performs routing path selection in a communications network by steps that include acquiring a dynamically changing metric value of at least one of a plurality of data routing paths extending from the source network node to a destination network node to which data is to be routed. A determination is made as to which of the data routing paths the data is to be routed on the basis of the acquired dynamically changing metric value of the at least one data routing path in order to satisfy at least one predetermined routing criterion. Routing of the data from the source network node to the destination node is then controlled to be performed over the determined data routing paths.

Routing path selection based on dynamical metric values

A network node enables a wireless device to communicate with a local service device, such as a printer or a projector, of a Local Area Network (LAN) or Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). The network node is connected both to a communication network and to the LAN or WLAN. The method includes identifying a multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) request, where the mDNS request is received from the wireless device, and assigning a LinkLocal (LL)-address for the wireless device. The method retrieves a local IP-address of an Authentication and Authorization Service (AA-S) having authorization information regarding a local service device, and authenticates, with the AA-S which type of services, that the wireless device is authorized to use. A local IP-address of the local service device is retrieved, and service data is conveyed between the wireless device and the local service device, by applying the LL-address of the local service device.

The present invention relates to nodes and method in such nodes of a Radio Access Network or a Backhaul Network connected to the Radio Access Network comprising a number of Radio Base Station nodes being connected to the Backhaul Network comprising communication paths for transferring data packets. There are nodes configured to support the performing of a method involving receiving a notification indicating congestion in one or more data paths of the Backhaul Network and deciding based on current radio information and data path information to initiate handover of data packet traffic from one Radio Base Station to another Radio Base Station for solving the congestion problem in the indicated one or more data communication paths.

Method for enabling control of data packet flows belonging to different access technologies

A method in a system for providing information about an association between an IP address of a UE and an ICCID of a SIM card used in the UE in a first security domain to an entity in a second security domain. The system comprises a MME, an HSS and a PDN-GW. The method comprises the MME retrieving at least the ICCID and optionally an IP address for the UE from the HSS, and sending the ICCID and optionally the IP address towards the PDN-GW. The method comprises the HSS receiving a request from the MME, and sending the ICCID and optionally the IP address to the MME. Still further, the method comprises the PDN-GW receiving the ICCID and optionally the IP address, if no IP address is received then the PDN-GW assigning an IP address, associating the IP address with the ICCID and informing the entity in the second security domain about the association between the IP address and ICCID in the first security domain.
