A child containment system has a child containment structure with a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom. A bassinet has an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the infant support surface. The bassinet can be mounted to the child containment structure with the infant support surface elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure. An infant support unit can have a frame, a bed supported by the frame, and legs that extend from one end infant support unit to the distal second end. The infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which the infant support unit at least partially positioned within the child containment structure with the bed overlying the bassinet's infant support surface, and with a portion of the legs contacting the bassinet's infant support surface.

Child containment system with multiple infant support modes

A child containment system or playard can include a frame and soft goods panels. The frame can include a top frame assembly and one or more legs extending down therefrom in a use configuration. The legs can be pivotable with respect to the top frame assembly to a stored configuration, where the legs are substantially parallel with portions of the top frame assembly. The playard can also include top rail soft goods attached to at least a portion of the top frame assembly. A first portion of the bassinet base can be stored in a cavity of a first portion of the top rail soft goods and a second portion of the bassinet base can be stored in another cavity of a second portion of the soft goods. The first and second base portions can be coupled together when needed and stored in the cavities when not in use.

Apparatus and method for a child containment system

A child containment system has a child containment structure with a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom. A bassinet has an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the infant support surface. The bassinet can be mounted to the child containment structure with the infant support surface elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure. An infant support unit can have a frame, a bed supported by the frame, and legs that extend from one end of the infant support unit to the distal second end. The infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which the infant support unit at least partially positioned within the child containment structure with the bed overlying the bassinet's infant support surface, and with a portion of the legs contacting the bassinet's infant support surface.

A child containment device has a playard and a bassinet accessory supported on the playard. A mattress is positioned within the bassinet accessory. The device can have a mattress support structure attached to the bassinet accessory or the mattress and can have a bassinet support structure attached to the bassinet accessory. The mattress support structure can keep the mattress flat and level and be irremovably attached to the mattress or bassinet accessory. The bassinet support structure can be irremovably attached to the bassinet accessory or can be configured to orient the mattress to contact a playard floor panel or be oriented 30&#xb0; or more from a level orientation if improperly installed.

A child containment system has a child containment structure with a bottom, a top rail, and a surrounding side wall that can be arranged to extend between the bottom and the top rail. An infant sleeping apparatus has a fabric bed and a frame. A connector arrangement includes at least one connector carried on a portion of the child containment system and at least one connector part carried on the infant sleeping apparatus. The infant sleeping apparatus is removably mountable to the child containment structure with the fabric bed above the bottom and with the connector part coupled to the connector at a position that is below the top rail.

Playard

A baby crib includes a frame structure, a support base located at a bottom of the frame, the support base including at least one opening, and a cushion pad disposed on the support base, the cushion pad including at least one strap disposed at a position corresponding to the opening. The strap has a first end secured with the cushion pad, and a second end that is formed as a free end adapted to pass through the opening and detachably fasten with the frame structure via a fastener. As the cushion pad is securely held with the support base of the baby crib, injuries caused by accidental lift of the cushion pad can be prevented.

In a first operational mode the infant support unit is removably mounted to the child containment structure with the bed overlying the support surface with each connector structure coupled to a corresponding portion of the perimeter wall. The frame is configured to support the bed above a rest surface in a second operational mode in which the infant support unit is detached from the child containment structure.

A connector part is on each of two opposed outward facing surfaces of the perimeter wall. The system has a bassinet with a bottom panel and surrounding wall around the bottom panel. The bassinet is removably mounted to the perimeter wall with the bottom panel elevated above the bottom. The system has an infant sleeping apparatus with a fabric panel, a top surface, a pair of opposed sides, and a pair of opposed ends. The infant sleeping apparatus has a connector part positioned near each of the pair of the opposed ends. The infant sleeping apparatus is removably mounted to the containment structure with the fabric panel overlying the bassinet bottom panel with each connector part of the sleeping apparatus coupled to one of the connector parts of the containment structure.
