This invention relates to a process of forming a polyamide composition having increased crystallization rate which comprises the steps of reducing the oligomeric polyamide content of said composition to less than 8% by weight of the composition, preferably with prior melt shearing, use of 1-2% nucleating filler e.g. talc and a mold release agent.

Process for improving the properties of polymers

This invention relates to a process for improving the optical, thermal and/or mechanical properties of a polymer by subjecting a melt of the polymer to a shearing action at an effective shear rate, as for example a shear rate of greater than about 100 sec.sup.-1, for a time sufficient to improve said properties.
