A spray coatable adhesive composition used for bonding silicon dies to a rigid substrate, preferable a silicon substrate is disclosed. The adhesive composition includes an epoxy based resin, a thermal acid generator, a photoacid generator and a solvent. The epoxy based resin includes a mixture of a solid bisphenol A epoxy resin and a liquid or semi-liquid hydrogenated bisphenol A epoxy resin at a weight ratio ranging from about 80:20 to about 65:35. The adhesive composition has a low viscosity which allows it to be spray coated on a rigid substrate and form thin film adhesive which allows silicon dies to be bonded with precise placement on the silicon substrate.

An inkjet ink composition having a binder including an aqueous dispersion of polymer particles, the polymer including, as polymerized units, (a) from 0 to 1 wt. % monoethylenically unsaturated acid monomer, based on polymer weight; and (b) monomer of the formulaCH&#x2550;C(R1)&#x2014;CON(R2)(R3)wherein R1&#x2550;H, CHor CHand R2 and R3 are independently selected from C1-C6 saturated alkyl and cycloalkyl groups; and wherein the total of (a) and (b) is at least 0.1 wt % monomer based on the polymer weight. The binder may be a copolymer of ethyl acrylate and acrylamide. An inkjet ink composition including the inkjet ink binder, a colorant, and a liquid medium is also provided.

Inkjet ink composition

An inkjet ink composition having a binder including an aqueous dispersion of polymer particles, the polymer comprising as polymerized units from 3 to 20 wt. % monoethylenically unsaturated acid monomer, based on polymer weight, and having a glass transition temperature (Tg) in the range of from &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. to 120&#xb0; C., and the polymer particles having a volume average particle diameter as measured by dynamic light scattering of at least 35 nanometers greater than the weight average particle diameter as measured by capillary hydrodynamic fractionation is provided. An inkjet ink composition including the inkjet ink binder is also provided.

The invention relates to an aqueous ink composition for use in ink jet printers comprising an aqueous carrier, a colorant, a polymeric dispersant, and a specific cosolvent mixture comprising C -C terminal alkanediols with a second component selected from polyethylene glycol-type materials and polyol/alkylene oxide condensates. The ink compositions demonstrate excellent stability, good maintenance characteristics for the printers in which they are used, and excellent optical density and print characteristics.

Ink compositions

A wet rub resistant ink composition comprises, by weight, at least about 15% carrier medium, colorant in an amount of no more than about 20%, and at least about 2% polymeric capsules having central cavities containing water. The composition is substantially free of film-forming resins. The ink composition may be used in combination with other ink compositions having different colors or shades to increase the color gamut of an ink system.

Wet rub resistant ink compositions

An ink jet printer for printing on a print medium includes a paper transport assembly with a plurality of rolls defining an approach path to a printing area and a return path from a printing area. A printhead positioned in the printing area is configured for jetting ink at selected locations on the print medium. A print medium heating assembly includes a heated roll, a first backup roll and a second backup roll. The heated roll and the first backup roll define a first nip therebetween and the heated roll and the second backup roll define a second nip therebetween. The first nip is positioned in association with the aproach path and the second nip is positioned in association with the return path.

High performance ink compositions with non-benzidine based colorants

The method comprises preparing a dispersion comprising colorant agglomerates and reducing the agglomerate size using a plastic medium. The dispersion is formed by dispersing the colorant agglomerates in a dispersant, optionally in the presence of a liquid carrier such as distilled or deionized water. The colorant in the dispersion may be a carbon black, yellow, cyan, or magenta pigment, or a combination thereof. The plastic medium is preferably a grinding medium, such as polystyrene.

Process for preparing pigment dispersions used in inks

The invention relates to an aqueous ink composition for use in ink jet printers comprising an aqueous carrier; a pigment; and a copolymer comprising a hydrophilic segment having an acidic function group, and a hydrophobic segment having a hydrolytically stable siloxyl substituent.

The inks made with these dispersants show excellent stability, print characteristics, water-fastness, light-fastness, optical density, and in-use maintenance characteristics.

Amino terminated polyacrylic acids and polyacrylic acrylates are prepared by free radical polymerization of the acid or acrylate monomers with t-Boc-aminoethanethiol as a chain transfer control agent followed by acid removal of the t-Boc group.
