Techniques for enhancing performance in Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) scenarios, including techniques for time-sensitive networking (TSN) and 5G wireless network integration. An example method, performed by a wireless device, comprises receiving system information (SI) from a radio base station (RBS) of a radio access network (RAN), the SI being indicative of support for TSN through the RBS, and establishing at least one TSN stream with an external data network, through the RBS. The example method further includes receiving a first timing signal from the wireless communications network, via the RBS, receiving a second timing signal from the external TSN data network to which the wireless device is connected, comparing the first timing signal to the second timing signal to determine an offset, and transmitting the offset to the wireless communications network.

Methods for facilitating positioning determination in a Wi-Fi communication network are disclosed. An example method comprises sending, to a responding communication node, a request to start a position-related determination procedure and information of a first plurality of frequency bands over which the initiating communication node is able to communicate. The method further comprises receiving, from the responding communication node, second information related to a second number of frequency bands over which the responding communication node is able to communicate, and triggering start of the position-related determination procedure based on the received second information so that the position-related determination procedure is performed over at least one of a third number of frequency bands that occurs in both the first plurality of frequency bands and the second number of frequency bands.

Methods and nodes for facilitating positioning determination in a Wi-Fi communication network

During transmission of data by radio transmissions from a first radio device to a second radio device, a third radio device is controlled to transmit an interference signal on radio resources used by the radio transmissions from the first radio device to the second radio device. The transmission of the data is coordinated with transmission of the interference signal, and an effect of the interference signal on the radio transmissions is monitored.

Embodiments include methods for decompression of headers of received Internet Protocol (IP) packets, such as by a device. Such methods include receiving a single transmission unit that includes a bitmap comprising a plurality of bits, and an aggregation of a first IP packet and a reference IP packet. Each bit in the bitmap indicates whether a corresponding header information element, of a header of the first IP packet, is redundant or non-redundant with respect to a corresponding header information element of a header of the reference IP packet. Such methods include reconstructing the header of the first IP packet based on the header of the reference IP packet and on the bitmap, and decompressing the header of the first IP packet. Other embodiments include devices configured to perform operations corresponding to such methods, and computer-readable media comprising computer-executable instructions that embody such methods.

A first communications device and a method therein for handling of active mode operation after transmitting data to a second communications device. The first and the second communications devices are operating in a wireless communications network. The first communications device transmits a first data transmission to the second communications device and enters a sleep mode. At a number of points in time, the first communications device temporarily wakes up from the sleep mode to an active mode for an active mode period. Further, the first communications device indicates, to the second communications device, a point of time of the active mode period.

First communications device and a method therein for handling of active mode operation

A method is disclosed performed by an initiating communication node (), for facilitating positioning determination in a Wi-Fi communication network (). The method comprises sending, to a responding communication node (), a request to start a position-related determination procedure and information of a first plurality of frequency bands over which the initiating communication node () is able to communicate. The method further comprises receiving, from the responding communication node (), second information related to a second number of frequency bands over which the responding communication node () is able to communicate, and triggering start of the position-related determination procedure based on the received second information so that the position-related determination procedure is performed over at least one of a third number of frequency bands that occurs in both the first plurality of frequency bands and the second number of frequency bands.

Scheduling requests are transmitted from a mobile terminal to a base station. The mobile sends a first scheduling request to the base station, the first scheduling request being associated with first data to be transmitted to the base station. The mobile receives a scheduling grant from the base station in response to the first scheduling request and transmits a buffer status report to the base station in response to receiving the scheduling grant. An HARQ acknowledgment for the buffer status report is received. Second data is received for transmission to the base station while at least some of the first data is waiting to be transmitted to the base station. A change in a buffer status of the mobile terminal is detected indicating that the second data has higher priority than the first data. The mobile transmits a second subsequent scheduling request to the base station in response to the change in buffer status.

A method of updating a number of retransmissions for a mesh node in a mesh network comprising a plurality of mesh nodes, wherein said number of retransmissions define how often said mesh node retransmits received messages within said mesh network, said method comprising the steps of receiving, by said mesh node, a number of data messages, wherein each of said data messages originates from a same source mesh node and is intended for a same destination mesh node in said mesh network, transmitting, by said mesh node, each of said number of data messages based on said number of retransmissions receiving, by said mesh node, a number of acknowledgement messages, wherein each acknowledgement message originates from said RD mesh node and acknowledges receipt of a particular data message of said first number of data messages, and updating, by said mesh node, said number of retransmissions based on said number of data messages and based on said number of acknowledgement messages. Complementary devices for performing a method according to the invention are also presented herein.

Method and device for updating the number of retransmissions in a wireless mesh network

There is provided mechanisms for handling acknowledgements from nodes in a wireless radio ad-hoc network. A method is performed by a gateway of the wireless radio ad-hoc network. The method comprises transmitting radio signalling to nodes in the wireless radio ad-hoc network. The transmitted radio signalling is addressed to, and requiring acknowledgement from, at least one node in the wireless radio ad-hoc network. The method comprises receiving radio signalling from a node in the wireless radio ad-hoc network. The received radio signalling comprises one in-packet Bloom Filter comprising acknowledgement of the transmitted radio signalling from at least one of the nodes.

Handling of acknowledgement in wireless radio ad-hoc networks

A communications device () and a method for providing an improved channel access procedure for transmission of data. The communications device and an Access Point (AP) () are operating in a wireless communications network (). The communications device performs a channel sensing procedure using a second slot counter Bn, which second slot counter is equal to a random backoff value or a first slot counter Sn. When trigger frame is received from the AP during the channel sensing procedure, which trigger frame triggers access to a channel, the communications device sets the first slot counter equal to the second slot counter and transmits the data to the AP on the channel. The communications device sets the first slot counter equal to a preset value and transmits the data to the AP in the absence of a received trigger frame and when the channel sensing procedure is completed.

Aspects of the present invention relate to the scheduling of resources in a telecommunication system that includes a mobile terminal and base station. In one embodiment, the mobile terminal sends an initial scheduling request to a base station. Subsequently, the mobile terminal does not transmit a scheduling request to the base station unless and until a scheduling request triggering event is detected.
