A process for making a spunmelt nonwoven web including the steps of providing a mixture of recycled polypropylene, extruding the recycled polypropylene mixture to form a molten recycled polypropylene mixture, filtering the molten recycled polypropylene mixture through a filter to form recycled polypropylene filtrate, dosing the recycled polypropylene filtrate into the spunmelt production line by an amount of 80% to 100% by weight, passing the recycled polypropylene filtrate through at least one spinneret of the spunmelt production line to form filaments at a spinning speed of greater than 1200 meters per minute, cooling and drawing the filaments, and depositing the filaments on a moving belt to form at least one layer of the spunmelt nonwoven web made up of 80% by 100% by weight of recycled polypropylene fibers.

Process for making a spunmelt nonwoven batt or web from recycled polypropylene

A force focused fastening system maintaining a fastener element in plane during fastening. The force focused fastening system includes a force focused fastening member including an extensible region and an end region. The end region includes a fastener element and the extensible region includes a high modulus region aligned relative to a center portion of the fastener element. During fastening, the force focused fastening member directs forces toward the center portion of the fastener element, away from end portions, minimizing distortion of the fastener element.

Forced focused fastening member

A fastening member has inboard and outboard ends, a panel region, an end region, and a stiffening element. The panel region is disposed adjacent to the inboard end and has first and second layers. The first and second layers are joined in a face-to-face orientation. The end region is disposed adjacent to the outboard end and has a fastening element zone and an intermediate zone. The intermediate zone is disposed between the fastening element zone and the panel region adjacent an interface between the panel and end regions. The stiffening element is disposed in the end region and has a stiffness of greater than about 200 N/m. A portion of the stiffening element is disposed between the first layer and the second layer and is joined to the first layer and the second layer. The portion is disposed adjacent to the interface between the panel region and the end region.

Fasteners having improved comfort

A fastening member has an inboard end and an outboard end. The fastening member comprises a base substrate comprising a panel region disposed adjacent to the inboard end and an end region disposed adjacent to the outboard end. The end region comprises a fastening element zone having a first stiffness and an intermediate zone having a second stiffness. The intermediate zone is disposed between the fastening element zone and the panel region adjacent to an interface between the panel region and the end region. The fastening member comprises a fastening element disposed in the fastening element zone and joined to the base substrate and a bonding agent disposed intermediate the fastening element and the base substrate. The bonding agent comprises a molten polymer.
