An injection device including a stopper and an electromechanical switch. The stopper includes an electronics assembly. The electromechanical switch is operable to be activated to power the electronics assembly. The stopper is configured to transition between a first size and a second size to activate the electromechanical switch.

Wakening electronics in an injection device

An injection device comprising: an energy source configured to power an electronic system of the injection device; one or more sensors in communication with the energy source, the one or more sensors configured to cause an activation signal to be provided to the energy source to cause the energy source to enter a powered state from a sleep state; and a processor configured to facilitate one or more functions of the injection device when the injection device is in the powered state.

Awakening electronics in an injection device

A device for administering a medicinal liquid by injection is provided. The device comprises a dose assembly comprising collapsible reservoir. The device further includes at least one actuator element onto which the user may apply a force to actuate the device, the force having a component along an axis perpendicular to a longitudinal axis; and a housing comprising a septum. The at least one actuator element is configured and arranged to act on at least a portion of a dose assembly and the at least one actuator element and dose assembly are configured and arranged such that the needle is displaceable along the longitudinal axis and/or in an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis in response to an actuation force so that a portion of the needle moves from an interior to an exterior of the housing and device to allow for dispensation of the medicinal liquid.
