An aerosol provision device for generating aerosol from a plurality of aerosol generating areas each configured to receive an aerosol precursor material can include a power source for providing power to a first atomizing element configured to generate aerosol from a first aerosol precursor material present in a first aerosol generating area and to a second atomizing element configured to generate aerosol from a second aerosol precursor material present in a second aerosol generating area; and power distribution circuitry configured to distribute power between the first atomizing element and the second atomizing element based on at least one parameter of the aerosol precursor material currently present in the first aerosol generating areas and the second aerosol generating area, respectively, wherein the at least one parameter is at least one of a presence of a first aerosol generating component including the first aerosol precursor material in the first aerosol generating area or a presence of a second aerosol generating component including the second aerosol precursor material in the second aerosol generating area.

A method of generating an aerosol comprising protonated nicotine, the method comprising the steps of: (i) providing a nicotine formulation comprising nicotine as free base; (ii) providing a carbon dioxide source capable of providing carbon dioxide in situ; (iii) vaporizing or aerosolizing the nicotine formulation; (iv) providing carbon dioxide from the carbon dioxide source, and (v) contacting the carbon dioxide with the vaporized or aerosolized nicotine formulation to thereby protonate nicotine free base and generate an aerosol comprising protonated nicotine.

In combination, an article containing smokable material and an apparatus for volatilizing at least one component of the smokable material. The article is engageable with the apparatus and disengageable from the apparatus. The smokable material is a layer on at least one surface of the article. The apparatus includes comprises an irradiative light source for generating light. The article and the apparatus are arranged such that the irradiative light source and the smokable material overlap radially of the apparatus when the article is engaged with the apparatus. A method of visualization between an electronic vapor provision system and a visualization device includes obtaining from the electronic vapor provision system notification that an inhalation on the electronic vapor provision system by a user has occurred, estimating a time of exhalation by the user responsive to the time of notification, and initiating a display of a computer graphic by the visualization device responsive to the estimated time of exhalation.

There is provided an electronic vapor provision system comprising: a vaporizer for vaporizing liquid for inhalation by a user of the electronic vapor provision system; a power supply comprising a cell or battery for supplying power to the vaporizer; and a filter for filtering vaporized liquid prior to inhalation by the user of the electronic vapor provision system, wherein the filter can partially or completely remove from the vapor one or more aldehydes present in the vapor.
