The packaging includes a flexible pocket having a hollow interior, an opening extending into the interior, a flap for covering the opening, and an adhesive closure positioned on the flap for releasably holding the flap in the closed position. The closure is spaced from a distal edge of the flap to permit a portion of the flap to be grasped and separated from the pocket without releasing the closure.

The packaging includes a flexible pocket having a hollow interior for said absorbent articles and an opening extending into the hollow interior for permitting an article to be withdrawn from the hollow interior. The packaging also includes a flap having a proximal end attached to the pocket and a distal end opposite the proximal end. The flap may be moved between an open position to permit an article to be withdrawn through the opening and a closed position to retain the articles in the pocket. The flap has a proximal width at the proximal end and a distal width at the distal end shorter than the proximal width.

An absorbent article is disclosed which exhibits enhanced wicking capacity. The absorbent article includes a liquid-permeable cover, a liquid-impermeable baffle and an absorbent enclosed therebetween. The absorbent is constructed of first, second and third members. Each member has a wicking capacity for body fluids discharged by a human body. The first member has a high wicking capacity, the second member has a lower wicking capacity than the first member, and the third member has a greater wicking capacity than the second member. The different wicking capacities of the three members promotes a systematic distribution of body fluid away from the body-side cover down into the absorbent article. The second member also has an equal or greater width than either the first or third members so as to provide a visual cue of when the absorbent article is in need of changing. By changing the absorbent article when the second member appears to be soiled, the user can prevent side leakage and soiling of an adjacent undergarment.

The invention is generally accomplished by providing an incontinent garment or feminine pad having an indicator thereon to aid in proper placement of the pad onto the body of the wearer. The invention in preferred form provides a sanitary napkin configured for partial labial disposition within the vestibule of the wearer, and for at least partially occluding said vestibule respecting fluid flow therefrom, said napkin comprises a fluid-absorbent body having a posterior region including a raised profile for projection within the vestibule intermediate the labia majora inwardly bounding the same from a position posteriorly remote from the clitoris and extending to the rearwardmost aspect of said vestibule, and anterior region merging with said posterior region and for generally external disposition about the vulvar region over said labia majora and spaced from said clitoris with a visual and/or tactile indicator located in the area of the pad that is to be placed immediately below the vestibule of the wearer.
