In an approach to improve workload orchestration in a multi-cloud environment, embodiments orchestrate and manage a workload in a decentralized multi-cloud environment using one or more smart contracts. Additionally, embodiments measure, by a competency measurement component, competency of cloud services based on one or more predefined cloud benchmarks, a consensus network, and the one or more smart contracts, and generate an orchestration plan that is a best fit for the workload. Furthermore, embodiments validate and update, by the consensus network and the one or more smart contracts, the generated orchestration plan, and executing the generated orchestration plan.

Workload orchestration in a multi-cloud environment

Methods, computer program products, and systems are presented. The method computer program products, and systems can include, for instance: predicting, with use of one or more predictive model, subsequent future state data of a computing node having an associated working memory, wherein the subsequent future state data specifies that a certain transaction currently uninvoked will be invoked by the computing node; prior to the invoking of the certain transaction, proactively establishing one or more control parameter value for controlling the working memory in dependence on the future state data; invoking the certain transaction in response to receipt, by the computing node, of transaction invoking request data for invoking the certain transaction; and executing the certain transaction in dependence on at least one control parameter value of the one or more control parameter value for controlling the working memory.

Working memory management

A request for changing data of a file system data structure stored on a shingled magnetic recording (SMR) drive is received. The data change is logged in a log entry of a log structure stored in a non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM). The log entry is added as a new entry at an end of the log structure. The log entry is marked within the NVRAM as modified and a predetermined criterion is determined to be satisfied. Responsive to determining that the predetermined criterion is satisfied, the NVRAM is searched for log entries marked as modified. The modified log entries are stored to the SMR drive.

Embodiments of the present invention describe an approve for ledger synchronization. Embodiments monitor conversations for keywords, and responsive to detecting the keywords, recording at least a portion of the conversations that includes the keywords. Additionally, embodiments store recorded conversation, based on the at least portion of the conversations that include the keywords, in a database, detect changes to ledgers, and determine authorization records is absent on the ledgers for the changes. Furthermore, embodiments, determine at least one of the stored conversations includes authorization records associated with the detected changes, retrieve the determined at least one of stored conversations, and synchronize the ledgers by creating a new block to the ledgers indicating authorization for the new block based on the determined at least one of stored conversations.

Approaches for expiring cached virtual content in a virtual universe are provided. In one approach, there is an expiration tool, including an identification component configured to identify virtual content associated with an avatar in the virtual universe, an analysis component configured to analyze a behavior of the avatar in a region of the virtual universe, the behavior indicating a likely future location of the avatar, and an expiration component configured to expire cached virtual content associated with the avatar based on the behavior of the avatar in the region of the virtual universe, wherein the cached virtual content associated with the avatar in the future location is maintained in the cache longer than cached virtual content associated with the avatar in another region of the virtual universe.

A first Micro Circadian Rhythm (MCR) pattern is identified in a Circadian Rhythm (CR) data of a user. Using the first MCR pattern, a second MCR pattern is predicted during a forecast period. The second MCR pattern is correlated with a set of possible future CR states. A first model of a distribution of a confidence value corresponding to the present CR state of the user is constructed. A second model of a distribution of a confidence value corresponding to a selected future CR state from the set of possible future CR states of the user is constructed. The first model and the second model are correlated to determine a likelihood of the selected future CR state being reachable from the present CR state for the user. When the likelihood exceeding a threshold, an application is caused to adjust a process.

A system and associated computer program product for retrieving a file from a distribution of storage nodes. A client computer sends a request for a file to a proxy layer and in response, the proxy layer generates a script for obtaining the requested file and sends the script to the client computer. The client computer executes the script, resulting in portions of the requested file being obtained from respective storage nodes in a storage layer. The portions of the requested file are concatenated to form the requested file.

Retrieval of a file from multiple storage nodes

A method for inferring an application type, based on an operational characteristic I/O pattern of a storage volume. One or more processors determine at least one operational characteristic of each storage volume of a storage volume group associated with an application. One or more labels are assigned for each storage volume, based on the operational characteristics of each storage volume. At least one template is received that includes labels of storage volume characteristics of known application types. One or more processors infer a type of application associated with the storage volume group, based on a best-fit match of the aggregate labels of the storage volumes of the storage volume group to the labels included in the templates of storage volume characteristics of known application types.

Inferring application type based on input-output characteristics of application storage resources

Operational characteristic I/O patterns of each storage volume of a storage volume group, and at least one operational characteristic of each storage volume associated with an application, are determined. Unsupervised learning is used to form clusters of storage volumes of similar characteristics. Labels are generated, assigned, and aggregated for each characteristic of each storage volume. Templates are received that includes labels of storage volume characteristics of known application types. An application type associated with the storage volume group is inferred, based on a best-fit match of the aggregate labels of the storage volumes of the storage volume group to the labels included in the templates of storage volume characteristics of known application types.

An invention that pre-fetches virtual content in a virtual universe is provided. In one embodiment, there is a pre-fetching tool, including a ranking component configured to rank each of a plurality of members belonging to a social network of an avatar according to predefined ranking criteria. The pre-fetching tool further includes a pre-fetching component configured to pre-fetch a virtual content within a proximity of each of the plurality of members belonging to the social network of the avatar based on the ranking.

A method and system for intelligent tiering is provided. The method includes receiving a request for enabling a tiering process with respect to data. The computer processor retrieves a migration list indicating migration engines associated with the data. Additionally, an entity list of migration entities is retrieved and each migration entity is compared to associated policy conditions. In response, it is determined if matches exist between the migration entities and the associated policy conditions and a consolidated entity list is generated.
