This application provides an electronic device, to reduce a probability that a screen stalling phenomenon. A timing control unit sends one first pulse of a tearing effect signal every a first preset time T1. The timing control unit sends S second pulses of the tearing effect signal when a transceiver unit does not receive an Nframe of display data within a preset time. The processing unit receives the Nframe of display data in the (N+1)frame, and controls, based on the Nframe of display data, the display to display an Nframe of image.

An electronic device includes a host controller. The host controller splits a to-be-displayed image into at least two sub images, where each sub image and an adjacent sub image thereof include at least one column of overlapping image pixels. The host controller sends the at least two sub images to at least two display drive circuits, so that the at least two display drive circuits can jointly drive a display screen to display the to-be-displayed image in a sub pixel rendering (SPR) manner.
