A system and method for abstracting objects in a virtual universe (VU) deployment is provided. The system and method abstracts VU objects for editing in a common abstraction utility and for deploying to one or more VU grids containing one or more VU architectures and/or platforms (servers). The method can be implemented in a computer infrastructure having programming instructions operable to: obtain an object associated with a first virtual universe server; translate the object with syntax specific to at least a second virtual universe server, the syntax being different than that used with the first virtual universe server; and deploy the translated object to the second virtual universe server.

System and method for abstraction of objects for cross virtual universe deployment

A method provides users with a simple way to give real-time feedback during a collaborative activity in a virtual environment, which can then be captured and synchronized with other aspects of the interactions such as verbal communication, text messaging, and the activity they were completing for later review. The patterns of activity can then be displayed graphically to easily visualize the patterns of interactions that occurred during the collaboration. Comments by reviewers can be inserted into the record of the interaction after looking over the graphical display.

A method and system for analyzing impact of change in an organizational entity. A graph H includes nets, nodes of the nets, edges connecting the nodes, and edge weights for the edges. The edge weights denote changes in some nodes resulting from changes in other nodes. For a given set Z of nodes A and for each node B characterized by a set S of at least one path of edges connecting nodes of H from node A to node B for each node A of Z, a measure M(Z,B) of a change in node B resulting from a change in each node A of Z is determined. M(Z,B) is a function of the edge weights in each path of S. Each node B of H is displayed via a graphical representation G(B) assigned to each node B. G(B) is a function of M(Z,B).
