Present invention relates to spcarbon nanogranules with iron incorporated in it from heavy petroleum residue of a refinery and thereby utilizing the materials for improved synthesis of light olefins (C-C) from syngas in a single step Fischer Tropsch synthesis to lower olefins, (FTO). The efficient iron incorporated carbon nanogranules derived from low value heavy petroleum residue are very attractive as catalytic system for direct synthesis of light olefin (C-C) from syngas at CO conversion up to 30%.

Disclosed are spcarbon nanogranules with iron incorporated from heavy petroleum residue of a refinery. The nanogranules may be used for improved synthesis of light olefins (C-C) from syngas in a single step Fischer Tropsch synthesis to lower olefins, (FTO). The efficient iron incorporated carbon nanogranules derived from low value heavy petroleum residue are very attractive as a catalytic system for direct synthesis of light olefin (C-C) from syngas at CO conversion up to 30%.

The present invention provides a Ni&#x2014;Zr oxide catalyst and a process for the preparation of the catalyst. The invention further provides use of the catalyst for the production of synthesis gas (a mixture of CO and H) by Tri-reforming of methane. The process provides a direct single step selective vapor phase partial oxidation of methane to synthesis gas over Ni&#x2014;ZrOcatalyst between temperature range of 600&#xb0; C. to 800&#xb0; C. at atmospheric pressure. The process provides a methane conversion of 1-99% with Hto CO mole ratio of 1.6 to 2.2.

Nano Ni&#x2014;Zr oxide catalyst for activation of methane by tri-reforming and a process for the preparation thereof

The present invention provides a catalyst and a process for the selective oxidation of carbon monoxide (CO) to produce carbon dioxide gas (CO). The process provides a process which selectively oxidizes CO to COin presence of excess hydrogen. The process provides a selective oxidation of CO to COgas over Cu/CeOcatalyst between temperature range 40&#xb0; C. to 90&#xb0; C. at atmospheric pressure in presence of excess H, HO and CO. The process provides a CO conversion up to 100% without deactivation till 100 h.

The present invention provides a process and catalyst for the production of synthesis gas (a mixture of CO and H) by reforming of methane with carbon dioxide. The process provides a direct single step selective vapor phase dry reforming of methane with carbon dioxide to produce synthesis gas over Ni&#x2014;MgO&#x2014;ZnO catalyst between temperature range of 600&#xb0; C. to 800&#xb0; C. at 1 atmospheric pressure. The process provides a methane conversion of 5-95% with Hto CO mole ratio of 0.83-1.2.

The present invention provides a process and catalyst for the autothermal and dry reforming of methane to produce syngas. The process provides a direct single step gas phase reforming of methane or natural gas to syngas over Ni&#x2014;Pt supported nanocrystalline ZrO. The process provides methane conversion of 54-99% with H/CO ratio of 1.14 to 1.42 (mol %) in the temperature range of 250 to 750 800&#xb0; C. at atmospheric pressure.

The present invention provides a process and catalyst system for the production of synthesis gas (a mixture of CO and H) from greenhouse gases like methane and carbon di oxide. The process provide a single step selective reforming of methane with carbon dioxide to produce synthesis gas over Ce&#x2014;Ni&#x2014;MgAlOcatalyst prepared by using combination of two methods evaporation induced self-assembly and organic matrix combustion method. These suitably combined methods generate a unique catalyst system with very fine Ni nano clusters evenly dispersed in high surface area support. The process provides both Methane and carbon di oxide conversion more than 90% without any noticeable deactivation till 100 hours between temperature range of 500-800&#xb0; C. at atmospheric pressure.

The present invention provides an improved process for the preparation of phosphorous containing mesoporous alumina catalyst for selective dehydration of methanol to dimethyl ether. The process provides a single step selective vapor phase dehydration of methanol to produce dimethyl ether over phosphorous containing mesoporous alumina (P/Al2O3) catalyst at a temperature in the range of 150-350&#xb0; C. The process provides methanol conversion of 45-100% with a selectivity of the DME up to 100%.
