A load control is provided which includes a wall-box housing, an electrical device to control electrical power to a load, a controller to control the electrical device, and a control interface. The controller is user-programmable and includes a saved settings data structure having multiple columns and rows of control settings. The control interface has first and second button switches to respectively select a column and row of the settings data structure in a settings mode of the controller. The button switches include respective electro-mechanical devices and are selectable by a user without disassembly of the load control. The control interface also includes one or more light indicators to signal the selected column of the settings data structure in the settings mode of the control, and to differently signal the selected row of the settings data structure.

In aspects of the present disclosure, a circuit interrupter includes a housing, a conductive path, a switch which selectively interrupts the conductive path, sensor(s), memory, and a controller within the housing. The sensor(s) measure electrical characteristic(s) of the conductive path. The memory stores an arc detection program that implements a machine learning model and includes a field-updatable program portion and a non-field-updatable program portion, where the field-updatable program portion includes program parameters used by the non-field-updatable program portion to decide between presence or absence of an arc fault. The controller executes the arc detection program to compute input data for the machine learning model based on the sensor measurements, decide between presence of an arc event or absence of an arc event based on the input data, and cause the switch to interrupt the conductive path when the decision indicates presence of an arc event.

A universal serial bus (USB) charging system includes a power supply including a plurality of power converters and a plurality of power supply outputs electrically coupled to the plurality of power converters, respectively. Each of the plurality of power converters is configured to convert an input voltage to a plurality of output voltages. A plurality of charging ports are electrically connected with the plurality of power supply outputs, respectively. Each of the plurality of charging ports provides an output voltage selected from the plurality of output voltages to an electronic device. A logic circuit is in electrical communication with the power supply and the plurality of charging ports. The logic circuit provides direct feedback to the power supply to output a particular output voltage of the plurality of output voltages to the plurality of charging ports and regulates a temperature of the plurality of charging ports.

In some aspects, the operating includes selecting a control signal pulse duration between a fixed duration and a variable duration, and controlling the supply of AC power to the load based on the selected control signal pulse duration. In some aspects, the operating includes detecting whether a voltage sag is present in the AC waveform and the selecting is based on determining that voltage sag is present in the AC waveform.

Methods and arrangements for false trigger prevention

Operation of an electrical load controller includes predetermining a duration of time based at least in part on a frequency of an alternating current (AC) waveform, the AC waveform oscillating though full cycles, selecting a detection window of time equal in duration to the predetermined duration of time, the selected detection window extending from a selected first time to a selected second time and straddling an expected time of a next zero-crossing of the AC waveform, monitoring a zero-crossing signal for a zero-crossing indication, of the next zero-crossing, occurring within the selected detection window, ascertaining a time of the next zero-crossing based on the monitoring, and selectively controlling a supply of AC power to a load, wherein the controlling uses the ascertained time of the next zero-crossing of the AC waveform to fire a switching circuit of the electrical load controller.

The present disclosure relates to arc fault detection in an electrical switch apparatus. In aspects of the present disclosure, an arc fault electrical switch apparatus includes a conductive path, a switch configured to interrupt electrical current in the conductive path, a current sensor in electrical communication with the conductive path and configured to measure the electrical current to provide current measurements, and a controller. The controller is configured to execute instructions to sample the current measurements to provide current samples, computing an estimated signal-to-noise ratio of the electrical current based on at least a portion of the current samples, determine whether the signal-to-noise ratio is less than a predetermined threshold, and activate the switch to interrupt the electrical current in the conductive path, if the signal-to-noise ratio is less than the predetermined threshold.
