Methods, information handling systems and computer readable media are disclosed for prioritizing communications. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, at a communications prioritization engine including a processor, communication data reflecting a communication. The communication data comprises source information representing a source of the communication. This method embodiment further includes identifying subject characteristic information within the communication data, and determining a subject characteristic score component using the subject characteristic information. The embodiment further includes determining a source score component using the source information and determining a response priority score using the subject characteristic score component and the source score component. The embodiment further includes determining, based on the response priority score, whether the communication data should be forwarded to a response function of the provider, and forwarding the communication data to the response function in response to a determination that the communication data should be forwarded.

A system and method according to the principles of the invention identifies mobile phone aliases. The system processes mobile location data and call event data to generate mobility profiles. The profiles indicate a mobile's geographic zone history over a specified time. To produce a mobility profile, the system aggregates location data into zones and associates the zones with times of day, week or month. Particular zones for different mobiles can be compared according to weighting algorithms to provide data indicating whether the mobiles belong to the same user.

A management resource and method monitor management operations associated with a group of managed devices, assign significance factors the management operations, and record instance information, identifying the managed device and the management operation, for each management operation performed. For each managed device, an interest factor is determined for each management operation. Weighting factors are determined for each managed device based on the interest factors and the significance factors. A management console display may be generated wherein the display indicates, whether in graphical or textual form, high priority managed devices, where the high priority devices are selected from the entire population of managed devices, based on the weighting factors. The IT administrator may adjust a weighting factor threshold to adjust the magnitude or extent of the filtering.

System and method for mobile alias identification

A technique for estimating the geo-location of a mobile station, based on signal measurements or other data that are obtained from both the control plane and the user plane. Through the coordination of obtaining signal measurements from both planes, the disclosed method and system make location estimations of greater accuracy possible. A data-processing system is configured to receive requests for location estimates from a location-based services (LBS) client or from a different source. The illustrative data-processing system then coordinates the acquisition of location data across both the control plane and the user plane, and correlates the data. The correlated location data can be subsequently used to generate a location estimate.

Location estimation of mobile stations by coordinating the acquisition and use of control plane and user plane location data

An apparatus and method are disclosed for tracking a large number of wireless terminals and for estimating the location of the terminals at each instant. Some embodiments of the present invention use a wide variety of factors to determine the order and frequency with which each wireless terminal is located. These factors include, but are not limited to, the history of the location of the wireless terminal, the time of day, and the weather.

An illustrative system and method for detecting a wireless terminal in a wireless network by ascertaining information about the wireless terminal's location, thus enabling individualized surveillance and tracking of certain wireless terminals. In some embodiments, the detection is triggered by a signal that is compliant with the Customized Applications for Mobile networks Enhanced Logic ('CAMEL') protocol. Several kinds of mobile-telecommunications events can trigger detection, including events that do not involve call origination. Advantages include bypassing the home location register when obtaining a location estimate for the wireless terminal and when determining whether a wireless terminal is of interest.

Wireless terminal surveillance system

Techniques for bypassing a packet core network for Internet bound traffic from user equipment (UE) via a RAN are described herein. According to one embodiment, it is determined whether a packet of data is destined for the Internet, in response to receiving the packet from a radio network controller (RNC) of a radio access network (RAN). The packet is originated from user equipment (UE) over the RAN. The packet is routed directly to the Internet without sending the packet to an SGSN (serving GPRS support node) of a packet core network, if the packet is destined to the Internet. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

Method and system for bypassing 3GPP packet switched core network when accessing internet from 3GPP UES using 3GPP radio access network

A type of network traffic associated with a packet received from a remote node of an access network is determined. A first interface logic routes the packet to a radio network controller (RNC) if the packet is received from an Internet protocol-basestation (IP-BTS) access network and destined to a packet core network. The RNC forwards the packet to a component of the packet core network. A second interface logic routes the packet to the component of the packet core network, including aggregating other packets of the same type received from other remote nodes, if the packet is received from a femto cell and destined to the packet core network. A breakout logic routes the packet to a destination of the Internet directly to enable the packet to reach the Internet without having to route the packet to the component of the packet core network, if the packet is destined to the Internet.
