The invention relates to a rotor () of a dual centrifuge wherein the rotor has a rotor head () and an additional rotational mechanism for at least one rotational unit () which is provided in the rotor head () and comprises a bearing unit () and a rotational head () that is connected to the bearing unit () which is rotatably mounted and can be driven relative to the rotor head () by an additional rotational mechanism, an opening () for the rotational unit () being provided in which the rotational unit is accommodated and by means of which the bearing () is arranged such that it is fixed relative to the rotor head (). The invention is characterized in that the rotational unit () has a housing () in which the bearing unit () is accommodated and in which the rotational head () engages, and in that the housing () and the rotational head () form, with bearing unit (), a structural unit, the housing () being mounted such that it cannot rotate relative to the rotor head () and such that it can be detached from the rotor head.

Rotor of a dual centrifuge

The invention relates to a rotational unit () for a rotor of a dual centrifuge, said rotational unit having a bearing () and a rotational head () which is connected to the bearing (), is mounted therein such that it can rotate about an axis of rotation and can be driven relative to the rotor by an additional rotational mechanism of the centrifuge, the rotational head () being detachably connected to the receiving unit () for conjoint rotation, which receiving unit comprises a sample container receptacle () for at least one sample container. The invention is characterized in that the receiving unit () and the rotational head () are connected by a frictional connection in which some portions of the receiving unit () and the rotational head () engage in each other in a wedge-like manner, and the frictional connection increases with a movement of the receiving unit () along the axis of rotation of the rotational unit () in the direction toward the rotational head ().

Rotational unit for a rotor of a dual centrifuge

A dual centrifuge () embodies the following: a driveshaft (), a rotor (), which is mounted on the driveshaft () and which can be removed axially in a removal direction (E), for a dual centrifuge, having at least one rotational unit (); an opening () in the rotor (), wherein an end region () of the driveshaft () at least engages into said opening; and an additional drive mechanism () for the rotational unit or the rotational units (). The dual centrifuge additionally has a design for operating various additional types of rotors; however, only one rotor () can be arranged on the driveshaft () at all times. The various rotor types () are also adapted to the additional drive mechanism () for the rotational units () such that the function is not adversely affected. A design for operating at least one angular head rotor () and a swing-out rotor (). For this purpose, the driveshaft () and the various rotor types () are adapted to each other. The bearing (), the driveshaft (), and the various rotor types () are adapted to one another such that each non-dual rotor () has a geometry that is measured such that when the rotor () is mounted, a drive device () of the additional drive mechanism () for the rotational units () is arranged so as to not contact the mounted rotor ().
