Control valves find one of their most important applications in control loops of process plants for controlling the flow rate of a gaseous or liquid medium. To this end, it is crucial that the flow rate can be reliably adjusted and that safe operation, especially with hazardous substances, can be guaranteed. To solve this problem, a hole pattern for perforated plugs () of control valves is proposed, which allows the densest possible arrangement of openings () on helical lines where the height of the helical lines is minimal and, at the same time, advantageous technical specifications and safety regulations can be taken into account. The pattern allows to generate a very smooth flow characteristic, which facilitates a reliable control of the flow rate. Moreover, the flow rate can be optimized such that the size of the moving parts of the control valve can be reduced to a minimum.

Perforated plug for a control valve

A control valve configured to set a process fluid stream of a processing plant can include a valve housing, a valve component, an annular-groove-shaped seal reception, and a seal. The valve housing can include an inlet, an outlet and an aperture extending between the inlet and the outlet along a longitudinal axis. The valve component can be mounted on the valve housing and can be a valve seat and/or a valve cage. The annular-groove-shaped seal reception can be confined by the valve component and the valve housing. The seal can be fit into the seal reception. The valve component and the valve housing can each form a respective ledge protruding in a radial direction to define the annular-groove-shaped seal reception. The ledges can each be configured to confine the seal reception in a respective axial direction.

Control valve for setting a process fluid stream of a processing plant

The invention relates to a process for a control valve having a valve seat and a throttle element, which throttle element has a sealing edge for sealing the valve seat, and furthermore a first opening area and a second opening area, which throttle element can furthermore be positioned relative to the valve seat by a positioning motion such that the first opening area will be effective in a first opening position thereof and/or the second opening area will be effective in a second opening position thereof, characterized in that a sealing element is arranged on the throttle element and/or the valve seat such that the throttle element will pass over a sealing position as it transitions from the first opening position to the second opening position, in which sealing position the first opening area will be effective and the second opening range will not be effective.

Control valve

A sleeve shaped valve cage for receiving a valve member is described. The valve cage can guide the valve member relative to the valve cage. The valve cage can include a throttle section configured to provide pressure-reduced flow rates of the processing fluid, the throttle section having multiple throttle conduits extending from an inside of the valve cage to an outside of the valve cage; a high capacity flow section adjacent to the throttle section in the displacement direction, the high capacity flow section configured to provide increased flow rates of the processing fluid; and at least one equalization channel formed in the valve cage and extending from the inside to the outside of the valve cage, the at least one equalization channel leading from the high capacity flow section to the throttle section such that, before the valve member releases all throttle conduits, the equalization channel is released.
