In a method and apparatus for determining at least one patient-specific safety parameter for a medical imaging examination conducted on the patient by a medical imaging device, position data of the patient are acquired by a position data detector while the patient is on a patient-positioning device of the medical imaging apparatus. The acquired position data are evaluated in a processor in order to determine position information of the patient. The patient-specific safety parameter is determined using the position information of the patient.

The patient image is transferred to a graphic interface, wherein the patient image is displayed. A position of a patient with respect to the isocenter is specified by determining at least one localization point in the patient image via the graphic interface.

A medical device is controlled as a function of a position of a control element projected onto a projection surface, wherein a geometric property of the projected control element is adjusted to the surface structure. The adjustment is accomplished by means of a transformation of projection data, the projection data corresponding to the control element that is to be projected. The optical projection of the control element is based on the transformed projection data. Such an adjustment and transformation are made possible by determining the surface structure of the projection surface. The control system has an image processor both for determining the surface structure and for transforming the projection data. The control system additionally has a projector for optically projecting the control element and a control unit for controlling the medical device based on the first position of the projected control element.

A device for the gesture-controlled setting of at least one setting variable on an X-ray source includes at least one recognition unit for anatomically recognizing a body part suitable for gesture control, at least one gesture detection unit for detecting at least one gesture of a body part recognized by the recognition unit, and at least one light source for displaying the at least one setting variable as feedback for a person making the gesture. The at least one setting variable was preset and/or set by using the at least one detected gesture. A method for the gesture-controlled setting of at least one setting variable on an X-ray source is also provided.
