A method includes receiving signaling indicative of performance of a reset operation involving a first physical function associated with a controller of a memory device and initiating a first timer that corresponds to an amount of time available for the first physical function associated with the controller of the memory device to complete execution of pending commands. The method further includes initiating a second timer that corresponds to an amount of time available for a second physical function associated with the controller of the memory device to complete execution of pending commands and initiating a third timer that corresponds to an amount of time available for the second physical function associated with the controller of the memory device to join a recovery operation that is instigated as a result of performance of the reset operation.

Seamless recovery of a hardware-based I/O path in a multi-function NVMe SSD

An apparatus to facilitate memory flushing is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a cache memory, one or more processing resources, tracker hardware to dispatch workloads for execution at the processing resources and to monitor the workloads to track completion of the execution, range based flush (RBF) hardware to process RBF commands and generate a flush indication to flush data from the cache memory and a flush controller to receive the flush indication and perform a flush operation to discard data from the cache memory at an address range provided in the flush indication.

An information handling system includes a processor configured to write a first command stride and a second command stride. Each of the first command stride and the second command stride includes logical commands in a single queue, and each of the logical commands is mapped for processing by a peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe). An accelerator may perform a logical separation of the logical commands based on the mapping of each logical command, wherein the logical commands are processed in parallel by the PCIe drives.

A method includes receiving, by a storage driver associated with a storage controller and a corresponding storage array, a data structure associated with an I/O request from a host, wherein the data structure is indicative of a virtual address. A top layer and a RAID core layer of a RAID miniport driver execute asynchronously to perform preprocessing operations including generating a linked plurality of physical I/O (PIO) data structures in accordance with the virtual address and a RAID configuration of the storage array, and storing a pointer to the linked plurality of PIO data structures. A protocol layer of the RAID miniport driver may then be executed synchronously to transfer, in accordance with the linked plurality of PIO data structures, I/O data corresponding to the I/O request between the storage controller and the storage array. Interrupt operations may then be performed synchronously to indicate completion of the I/O request to the host.

System and method for discovering a virtual disk spanned across independent storage controllers

An information handling system recognizes PCIe-based RAID volumes, including RAID virtual disks spanning two or more NVMe storage drives, while performing boot, hibernation, and crash-dump functions, rather than treating each storage device and its corresponding storage controller separately. The information handling system may perform a two-tiered discovery/initialization process during which a storage protocol function driver detects and initializes physical storage controllers, a storage controller bus driver virtualizes all physical storage controllers of a particular storage protocol and exposes a single virtualized storage controller for the protocol. A virtual miniport driver may then detect RAID volumes associated with the virtual storage controller and initialize the detected RAID stack(s).

Method to virtualize PCIe controllers to support boot/hibernation/crash-dump from a spanned virtual disk

A datacenter management server includes a datacenter operations manager and a datacenter infrastructure manager with an infrastructure viewer and an asset deployment tool. The datacenter operations manager compiles datacenter hierarchy information for a datacenter, including identity information for a virtualized environment and identity information for a virtualization capable system. The virtualization capable system is deployed as a stand-alone system of the datacenter. The datacenter infrastructure manager receives the datacenter hierarchy information, directs the infrastructure viewer to display a hierarchical overview of the datacenter, including depictions of the virtualized environment and the virtualization capable system. The hierarchical overview is based on the identity information. The datacenter infrastructure manager also receives a selection of the depictions from a user and directs the asset deployment tool to deploy the virtualization capable system to the virtualized environment.

System and method for detection and deployment of virtualization capable assets in a managed datacenter

An information handling system (IHS) troubleshooting system includes a customer IHS including a plurality of components. A customer management system in the customer IHS detects a failure in a managed system and, in response, immediately triggers a device snapshot of the customer IHS. At least one managed system in the customer IHS includes a device snapshot engine that, in response to the customer management system triggering the device snapshot of the customer IHS, immediately create the device snapshot of the customer IHS. A device snapshot storage in the customer IHS stores the device snapshot of the customer IHS. A snapshot communication engine in the customer IHS sends the device snapshot of the customer IHS over the network to a support IHS. The support IHS may load the device snapshot into a virtual IHS and manage the virtual IHS to replicate the failure detected in the managed system for troubleshooting.
