Analog calibration (ACAL) circuits supporting iterative measurement of an input signal from a measured circuit, and related methods are disclosed. The ACAL circuit includes a voltage reference generation circuit and a comparator circuit. The voltage reference generation circuit is configured to provide an input reference voltage. The comparator circuit is configured to compare the input reference voltage to an input circuit voltage of a measured circuit and generate a digital measurement signal based on the comparison. To provide for the ACAL circuit to more precisely measure the input circuit voltage, the voltage reference generation circuit is programmable and is configured to a generate the input reference voltage based on a programmed reference voltage selection. In this manner, the ACAL circuit can be used to measure the input circuit voltage in an iterative manner based on different programmed input reference voltages for a more precise measurement of the input circuit voltage.

An access point that implements operating modes in which beacons may be selectively disabled. Beacons may be disabled when no device is actively associated through the access point. Beacons may be enabled in response to one or more triggers, which may include events such as a client forming an association through the access point following a probe request message identifying the access point. In addition, active beaconing may be triggered by user input or may occur during periodic brief intervals that allow client devices to discover the network identifier for the access point. Selective control of beaconing may lead to more effective wireless communication, particularly in areas where users congregate with computers implementing soft APs for personal networks.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to layout techniques for high-speed and low-power signal paths in integrated circuits with small channel devices. More specifically, according to certain aspects, an integrated circuit may comprise a plurality of layers, wherein at least a portion of the plurality of layers is configured to form a power/ground grid having odd-numbered metal layers and even-numbered metal layers, wherein a majority of traces of the even-numbered metal layers have a first orientation, and wherein a majority of traces of at least one of the odd-numbered metal layers are oriented parallel to the majority of the traces of the even-numbered metal layers; and one or more circuit components configured to use high-speed, low-power signals carried by one or more of the plurality of layers and to be powered by the power/ground grid.

Layout techniques for high-speed and low-power signal paths in integrated circuits with small channel devices

Various clock frequency dividers are disclosed. Each frequency divider includes cascaded flip-flops and a feedback logic gate. First data inputs of the flip-flops are for propagating logic values along the cascaded flip-flops and the feedback gate for generating valid states of a sequence in response to a clock signal. Each frequency divider includes an invalid state elimination circuit configured to detect an invalid state at the outputs of the flip-flops and change it into a valid state in response to the clock signal. In some implementations, the invalid state elimination circuit includes a NOR gate to detect an all-zero invalid state and generate a control signal to cause the flip-flops to output logic values associated with a valid state or to cause a multiplexer to introduce a logic value associated with a valid state. In other implementations, the invalid state elimination circuit instead includes an AND gate to detect an all-ones invalid state.

One aspect relates to a method for operating a charge pump including comparing a drain voltage of a current sink transistor of the charge pump with a drain voltage of a current reference transistor, adjusting a gate bias voltage of the current sink transistor and the current reference transistor using a first error amplifier in a direction that reduces a difference between the drain voltage of the current sink transistor and the drain voltage of the current reference transistor, comparing a common-mode voltage of a loop filter with a reference voltage, and adjusting a gate bias voltage of a current source transistor of the charge pump using a second error amplifier in a direction that reduces a difference between the common-mode voltage of the loop filter and the reference voltage, wherein the first error amplifier includes a larger number of amplifying stages than the second error amplifier.

Differential charge pump with extended output control voltage range

One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a method for operating a charge pump. The method includes comparing a drain voltage of a current sink transistor of the charge pump with a drain voltage of a current reference transistor, and adjusting a gate bias voltage of the current sink transistor and the current reference transistor in a direction that reduces a difference between the drain voltage of the current sink transistor and the drain voltage of the current reference transistor. The method also includes comparing a common-mode voltage of a loop filter with a reference voltage, and adjusting a gate bias voltage of a current source transistor of the charge pump in a direction that reduces a difference between the common-mode voltage of the loop filter and the reference voltage.

A method of operating an access point (AP) configured to support multiple pre-shared keys at a given time to authenticate its associated client devices. Each client device associated with the AP is provisioned with a key. To authenticate the client device that attempts to connect to the AP, the AP determines which pre-shared key (PSK) of the multiple supported pre-shared keys (PSKs), if any, matches information including the key received from the client device. When the information matches, the client device is allowed to connect to the AP. Provisioning the AP with multiple PSKs allows selectively disconnecting associated client devices from the AP. The AP may be configured to support PSKs of different lifetime and complexity. Removing a PSK of the multiple PSKs supported by the AP and disconnecting a client device that uses this PSK does not disconnect other client devices using different keys to access the AP.

Support of multiple pre-shared keys in access point

A computing device configurable as a wireless network access point that can be controlled from multiple applications. The computing device provides an interface through which applications may input commands to change the state of the access point. The interface responds to these commands and other events, such as association or disassociation of a wireless client, in a manner that does not disrupt the applications or devices using the access point. To determine an appropriate response to any event, the interface may maintain state information, including a count of the number of applications and/or wireless devices that have taken action indicating an operating state of the wireless access point.

Wireless access point supporting control by multiple applications

In some embodiments, a wireless management service provides the capability to manage connectivity between a device and one or more wireless networks on a differentiated basis. For example, network profiles may be managed in a way that is influenced by the identity of the user, such that profiles which are customized for a specific user may be established. Connectivity may also be managed in a way that is influenced by a session type ongoing on a device, such that when certain events occur (e.g., a request by one user to connect to or disconnect from a wireless network is processed), wireless connectivity employed by other users sharing the device is appropriately managed.

Differentiated management of wireless connectivity

A protocol for operation of wireless devices enables a wireless device to remotely and securely invoke a service on a target wireless device without requiring the user of the target wireless device to take any action and without requiring the target wireless device to use power unnecessarily. Mutual authentication is executed while the target wireless device remains in a low power discoverable mode. The discoverable mode includes discovery windows separated by inactive windows when the radio of the target wireless device is powered down.
