Systems and methods are provided for adjusting a composition, pressure, and/or flow rate of a mixed refrigerant (MR) fluid in a liquefaction system to provide refrigeration to natural gas (NG) feedstock to produce liquefied natural gas (LNG). The MR fluid that is in circulation within a liquefaction system can include heavy components and light components. During LNG production, heavy components and/or light components of the MR fluid can be selectively removed from, and reintroduce into the MR fluid, thereby altering the composition of the remaining MR fluid in circulation. Adjusting the composition of the MR fluid in circulation within a liquefaction system can allow the system to be optimized to maximize efficiency, LNG production, and or profitability while the system is in operation.

Continuous mixed refrigerant optimization system for the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG)

A system that can offload compressed gas from a storage tank to a customer site. The system can have a fluid circuit that is configured to fit within a container structure, like a trailer, for mobility to remote locations. This fluid circuit can include a transfer unit to automatically switch between tanks. The transfer unit can couple with a heat exchanger. Downstream of the heat exchanger, the fluid circuit can reduce pressure of fluid from the tanks through multiple pressure reduction stages. Each of the pressure reduction stages can include a throttling device, for example, a pilot-type fluid regulator and a control valve assembly. The throttling device may be selected to maintain flow of fluid at least at, e.g., 35,000 scfh, in accordance with pressure drops in the incoming fluid from the tanks.

A system includes a syngas cooler and a compatible seal gas system. The syngas cooler may be configured to cool a syngas. The compatible seal gas system may be configured to supply a compatible seal gas to a seal of the syngas cooler. The seal may be configured to block the syngas from a passage between an outer wall of the syngas cooler and a tube cage of the syngas cooler.

In one embodiment, a method includes gasifying a fuel source using a first oxygen stream supplied from an air separation unit (ASU), discharging a gasifier blowdown from a gasification and scrubbing system configured to gasify the fuel source, generating a grey water from the gasifier blowdown, and biologically treating the grey water in a reactor using a second oxygen stream supplied by the ASU.

In one aspect, a gasification system for use with low rank fuel is provided. The system includes a first gasifier positioned to receive a feed of low rank fuel, the first gasifier being configured to gasify the low rank fuel to produce hydrocarbons and fixed carbon. The system also includes a second gasifier configured to produce a syngas stream using the received fixed carbon, a cooler configured to receive and cool the syngas stream, and a first conduit coupled between the cooler and the first gasifier. The first conduit is configured to recycle at least a portion of the syngas stream to the first gasifier to facilitate heating low rank fuel within the first gasifier. The recycled syngas stream is mixed with the hydrocarbons to produce a hydrocarbon-rich syngas stream. The system also includes a second conduit coupled to the first gasifier for receiving the hydrocarbon-rich syngas stream.

Integrated steam gasification and entrained flow gasification systems and methods for low rank fuels

A method includes monitoring a pressure of a gasification system after gasifier shutdown via a pressure sensor, wherein the gasification system includes a gas treatment system and a gasifier configured to output syngas to the gas treatment system during gasification. In addition, the method includes depressurizing the gasification system after gasifier shutdown by opening a flare valve to release gas from the gasifier and the gas treatment system to an atmosphere. The method also includes pressurizing the gasification system after gasifier shutdown, when the monitored pressure reaches a lower pressure threshold, by establishing multiple purge flows of inert gas into the gasification system to remove residual gas from the gasification system. The multiple purge flows are established at different times and at different locations within the gasification system relative to each other.

Disclosed herein are systems and methods for treating carbon dioxide in an environmentally effective manner. Systems and methods include providing a carbon dioxide enriched stream having COand at least one oxidizable sulfur compound and passing at least some of the carbon dioxide enriched stream to carbon dioxide storage, wherein the method further comprises passing at least some of the carbon dioxide enriched stream to selective sulfur removal during a period of system upset. Selective sulfur removal may comprise treatment with an solid or liquid capable of oxidizing the oxidizable sulfur compound.

In one embodiment, a gas purification system is provided. The system includes a first section having a first solvent path and a first gas path. The first gas path is configured to flow a stripping gas to remove hydrogen sulfide (HS) and carbon dioxide (CO) from the first solvent path in a first vessel to produce a first gas mixture. The system also includes a second section having a second solvent path. The second solvent path is configured to flow a second solvent mixture to remove HS from the first gas mixture and COfrom the second solvent mixture within a second vessel.
