Systems and methods for performing simple and quick real time single music note recognition algorithm based on fuzzy pattern matching are disclosed. In one aspect, the systems and methods use a 256-point FFT and fuzzy pattern identification and recognition method. The systems and methods can recognize a note as short as 0.125 seconds in a frequency range from 16 Hz to 4000 Hz, with 11.025 KHz sampling rate and 8-bit per sampling signal. The systems and methods may be used as part of a music tutor system that receives a played note, identifies the played note, and compares the played note with a reference note. An indication may be given as to whether the played note matched the reference note.

Real time music recognition and display system

A method and system for controlling vehicle functions using a walkie-type cellular phone is provided. A cellular phone is used to make a walkie-talkie type connection with a device disposed within a vehicle. The cellular phone sends a message to a receiver of the device disposed with the vehicle. The message instructs the device on how to control the vehicle. The device is electrically connected to one or more vehicle controls of the vehicle.

A medication dispensing system comprising an on-site medication dispensing unit and a central monitoring facility. The on-site medication dispensing unit holds bulk amounts of medication in a plurality of separate receptacles from which it selects a desired medication dosage according to an entered and stored prescription regimen and then notifies the patient by an audible or other sensory signal. If the patient presses a button within a prescribed time, the unit dispenses the dosage. If the patient does not press the button within the prescribed time, or if the unit detects a failure to dispense the selected canister, the unit makes the receptacle inaccessible and contacts a predetermined list of caregivers and the central monitoring facility.

A method and system for hand-held medical monitoring is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of EKG capable electrodes, and analog digital converter electrically connected to the plurality of electrodes and having a plurality of channels, a control circuit electrically connected to the analog digital converter, a serial transceiver electrically connected to the control circuit, a first hand-held personal digital assistant electrically connected to the serial transceiver and adapted for wireless communication, and a set of instructions stored on the first hand-held personal digital assistant for receiving measurements from the plurality of electrodes and displaying measurements from one or more of the plurality of electrodes and wirelessly transmitting measurements from one or more of the plurality of electrodes. Preferably, the system and method also provide for a remote hand-held personal digital assistant and wireless contact with the first hand-held personal digital assistant and adapted for remotely receiving the measurements from the first hand-held personal digital assistant and displaying the measurements.

An audio message is downloaded from the central monitoring facility to one or more of the on-site dispensing units, and played in accordance with a downloaded play program.

Apparatus and method for medication dispensing and messaging

A music score display device that eliminates the need for hard copy sheet music and manually turning pages or advancing the music score. The music score display device includes a storage device for storing music score data, a display device for displaying the music score, an input device for inputting music playing data from the musician, a microprocessor, and a computer program. The computer program compares the music score data with the music playing data to determine the playing position of the musician. The computer program then controls the display device so that it displays the portion of the music score corresponding to the playing position of the musician.
