An optical switch assembly includes a first member, a second member movably secured to the first member, and first and second optical cable connectors attached to the first member. The second member is movable between first and second positions relative to the first member. The optical switch assembly also includes an optical cable having opposite first and second ends. The optical cable first end is in optical communication with the first optical cable connector and the optical cable second end is attached to the second member. Movement of the second member to the second position causes the optical cable second end to be in optical communication with the second optical cable connector such that an optical path is established between the first and second optical cable connectors. The establishment of an optical path allows the optical cable to pass an optical signal back to a monitoring station.

A remote door access monitoring system includes a central monitoring component and a remote monitoring component. The central monitoring component includes an optical source, an optical power level receiver, and a microcontroller. The optical power level receiver is in communication with the microcontroller. The remote monitoring component includes an optical switch that is operably associated with a door of a communications equipment cabinet. The communications equipment cabinet is located at a geographical location different from a geographical location of the central monitoring component. The optical source transmits an optical signal from the optical source to the optical switch and back to the optical power level receiver. The optical switch attenuates the optical signal in response to opening and closing of the door. The optical power level receiver is configured to detect an attenuated optical signal and then notify the microcontroller of the existence of an attenuated optical signal.

The sealed device manages a flow of the water from the fuel cell to one of a container and an exterior of the fuel cell cabinet.

A fuel cell cabinet air feed and exhaust system is provided. The air feed and exhaust system includes a sealed air feed system that feeds air from outside a fuel cell cabinet to a fuel cell disposed inside the fuel cell cabinet, and a sealed air exhaust system that exhausts air from the fuel cell to the outside of the fuel cell cabinet. Each of the sealed air system and the sealed air exhaust system is sealed with respect to the fuel cell such that the sealed air system, the sealed air exhaust system, and the fuel cell form a sealed system.

A cabinet includes a first compartment for housing electronic equipment, such as equipment used to provide telephone service and/or voice and data networking services. The front of the equipment housed in the first compartment is accessible via at least one door. The cabinet also includes a second compartment accessible by a second door, on an opposite side of the cabinet. The second compartment is for housing a connection panel, which allows subscriber lines to be connected to provider lines and/or terminals of the electronic equipment. A partitioning wall separates the first and second compartments and includes an access port communicating the first and second compartments. When the connection panel is moved, e.g. pivoted by use of a hinge, a service technician can gain access to the rear of the electronic equipment housed in the first compartment via the access port. An access panel can be used to close the access port so that the temperature and/or humidity of the first compartment can be regulated, as compared to the conditions in the second compartment and outside of the cabinet.

A method and apparatus for upgrading in-service or legacy telecommunications cabinets that improves power, cooling, space and EMI capabilities, allowing the cabinet to house updated, telecommunications equipment. The upgrade modules include an extension collar that replaces legacy doors, allowing the attachment of replacement doors having integral heat exchanger units. The extension collar also has support for Electro-magnetic Interference (EMI) shielding gaskets so provide EMI shielding capable of meeting FCC mandated levels. Additional upgrade modules include a battery chamber attached beneath the base of legacy cabinet, cooled and vented by one or more of the heat exchanger doors, thereby providing longer battery life.

Cabinet upgrade system for in-service telecommunications cabinets

A modularly designed EMI shielded enclosure made from two end sections coupled to each other by crossing members. Panels and/or doors which are attached to the end sections and crossing members form seams at the points of attachment where said seams are made from overlapping surfaces which substantially reduce the amount of electromagnetic radiation leaking from the enclosure.

A composite gasket for the door of an outdoor, electronic component containing cabinet includes a known type of gasket including an elongated hollow tubing for mounting on a door jamb of the cabinet, and a supplemental gasket of an electrically conductive material fixedly secured to one side of the hollow tubing and coextensive therewith entirely around the periphery of the door jamb. The known gasket provides a weather seal for the door. The supplemental gasket spans the gap between the door and the jamb established by the weather gasket for electrically interconnecting the door to the jamb and for sealing the door joint against electromagnetic radiations. The supplemental gasket is disposed entirely within the weather sealed space of the cabinet when the door is closed, and is so arranged as to provide no interference with the weather seal formed upon closing of the door.
