Provided is a method for managing synchronization with a network. The method includes detecting, by a dual SIM dual standby user equipment (a DSDS UE), a radio frequency resume event (an RF resume event); transmitting, by the DSDS UE, at least one uplink dedicated physical control channel (at least one UL-DPCCH) to the network in response to the RF resume event being detected, wherein the at least one UL-DPCCH is transmitted irrespective of a signal to interference ratio quality (an SIR quality) on a downlink dedicated physical control channel (a DL-DPCCH) of the network being below a first quality threshold; and managing, by the DSDS UE, a downlink (a DL) synchronization with the network.

Method and user equipment for managing synchronization with network

A method of enabling downlink (DL) flow control in a high speed packet access (HSPA) network is provided. The method includes detecting, by a user equipment (UE) radio link control (RLC) layer, at least one missing packet data unit (PDU) during a radio frequency (RF) outage in a dual subscriber identity module (SIM) dual standby (DSDS) operation, triggering, by the UE RLC layer, a status PDU indicating the at least one missing downlink PDU, transmitting, by the UE RLC layer, the status PDU to the HSPA network, and receiving, by the UE RLC layer, the at least one missing PDU, which is re-transmitted from a HSPA network RLC layer.

Method and equipment for throughput recovery during resumption from outage scenarios

A UE side Broadcast/Multicast Control (BMC) protocol layer determines those Cell Broadcast Service (CBS) messages (and their repetitions) which the UE shall read or ignore in a succeeding CBS schedule period, based on the CBS Schedule Message contents (Message Description Type and New Message Bitmap) received in a current CBS schedule period, the CBS messages already stored in the BMC, and the CBS messages to be received. In this manner, the UE may ignore CBS messages it has already received, without knowledge of the CBS message serial numbers, and thus conserve resources such as battery power.
